This may be real. The evidence is the Logo for the game. Sonic and Knuckles are in the same poses they were in on the Sonic & Knuckles title screen back on the Genesis/Megadrive. If this was fake the art would be already existing. Also, before anyone suggests that this was fan made, no fan made models are that official looking. They are close, but never quite as spot on. This looks like something SEGA created. And nothing in the trailer suggests a joke. This is a teaser after all. And if SEGA can create a game like Sonic Runners in the state they are in now, then they can very well create the 3rd and final episode to Sonic 4.

Though to be fair, now fans can make stuff so authentic that even Sega and their partner companies can be fooled into incorporating them into official works! *My Mockup of Sonic 4 Episode 3* Sonic 4 EP3 is not a separate game from 1 and 2, but rather part of Sonic 4-Ever, which is a collection of the 2 Sonic 4 Episodes with remastered graphics and improved mechanics. Now, you don’t just have Sonic 4 EP3, but you also have Episode Amy, which is where Amy finds out that Eggman is gonna turn the world into Eggmanland (Yes, I read the Sonic 4 manual), so she goes to the 4th island to reach Team Sonic and help them save the world, but harder versions of the first 3 EP2 levels come her way, so she must venture through them to get to the third island, but at the end, Amy gets kidnapped by Egg Robo (the antagonist of Sonic 3 Knux Story). So in the real Episode 3, Team Sonic all venture through zones on the new island to destroy the Death Egg Mk. II after Sonic and Tails left it undestroyed in Episode 2, and in the last zone on the island (if you don’t know what I’m talking about, they’re zones that don’t appear in the sky), Team Sonic has to fight Egg Robo to save Amy, and after that, she becomes a playable character that can join the team if you choose to do so. Finally, after beating the game, in all 3 episodes (no Episode Metal or Amy), you can choose any character you wanna play as. Sonic and Tails in EP1, Sonic ALONE in EP2, you name it. This better be for real because I want the 4 saga to be complete. I don't like being left on a cliffhanger after episode 2. Also if it is coming out on consoles I hope it does come out on wii u because we were all left in the dark with episode 2 not getting a nintendo release. If this game is real then I want to see sonic, tails, knuckles, metal sonic, amy rose, and shadow be playable in the 2D gameplay. For Amy's gameplay style, this would be the time to bring back the sonic advance gameplay she had from 2001. Shadow's gameplay style in 2D should be similar to how he plays in sonic megamix which is a hack of sonic 1, but he should be a character you unlock after beating anyone of the 4 heroes stories and should be similar to the knuckles story in sonic 3 where it takes place after the events of the 4 heroes stories (making this a call back from sonic 3 and knuckles). He should be that character you find helping the enemy and you fight him 1 or 2 times and he lends a hand in the final boss. Metal Sonic should be similar to how he was in episode metal. Go through past levels to chase the heroes but the rest of the game for him would be just the dark story from sonic adventure 2 well you fight the heroes and you beat the game as the villian. Aside from all of this being said I hope they have original level ideas and original boss ideas and BETTER MUSIC! This episode of the game should 14 or 15 levels long. Knuckles being treated into helping the villian doing the dickish things he did in sonic 3 and knuckles defeating him and realizing who the real villian is (then unlocking knuckles). Fight metal sonic 2 times, once to rescue amy (call back to sonic CD and then unlocking amy) and the second time in the final level just like episode 2.

Amazing editing work; but the date just kills it, of course. That, and I doubt SEGA would use footage of Sonic 4 with the live counters in the hundreds. May seem very nitpicky, but it's just a thing I've noticed never happens with these kinds of 'flashback' trailers, such as with the Sonic Runners trailer (which also featured Sonic 4). Knuckles' model also looks quite out of place. Either way, damn good hoax.
