Laughing to all those who complained about Maru's proxy rax plays. And remember how much his career has been, remember those clutch fights with Zest in ProLeague. Maru has the highest overall score in ProLeague and was awarded MVP. His rivalry with TY. His early royal road championships in the old star leagues. Him being the only one who won all Korean Star leagues. All this on top of his record 4-in-a-row Code S championship.

These guys are among the absolute bests at this game.. at this time.. on this planet.. Think you can do better than reynor? He maybe even leads in their head to head matches, im not sure. What he showed here was nothing but low form, they all have it. When rogue used roaches 4 times in a row against maru in a bo7 final - maru couldnt do shit. Rogue is the current GSL champion. Where is he in GSL2? Didnt make it out of the groups. It just happens. @@nustada I don't think so, there was no easy way to be running over zerg main army, he had lots of broodlords and stuff, it was zerg trying to attack and trade with terran, not the other way. If you make a nydus next to the main army and some in terran main base he could bring back forces if terran decide to steamroll. And if he only spent like 12 supply one ultra and 16 lings it would do more damage than most of his other attack attempts did.

I feel like the quality of Terran play has decreased significantly since Innovation joined the army. Innovation wasn’t the best Terran at the time of his departure, but he had the cleanest and most up to date timing attacks by far. I think other Terrans like Maru analyzed his games and picked his brain for timings and minor updates to reactored hellion triple CC play, without him and TY we’re seeing less well timed and coordinated pushes out of Terrans overall. Though the micro of players like Clem and Maru is so good that they still do well, I haven’t seen a fourth base go down to a tank marine timing in a very long time.

They are the best Terrans in their regions, though Maru is much better. Give Clem time though, TvZ is the most skill testing matchup in SC2 and it’s his best by far. If he gets a chance to start practicing against more unique Korean bullshit (roaches, mech, the entire Protoss faction) he could become the next top Terran.

Yeah, I know what some of you will reply - that Serral, for instance, is a Zerg player. Of course, but if you watch one of his games, you'll see exactly what I mean - the amount of keystrokes per minutes he has to emit to control his forces to allow him to win is amazing, he likes "works all the time" and have to use elaborate schemes, for instance neural a ghost to EMP the terran units before they destroy him, stuff like that - while the defending terran player usually does a lot less keystrokes per minute as he is used to not having to use so much.. Because usually terrans rule the game and to change this, Serral has to work all the time.

if you look at resources lost in TvZ - it is rather usual for Zerg to lose more resources than Terran in terms of units lost. Terran army usually trades better with Zerg units.

It's literally every terran vs every zerg. And I might be noob when playing, but I can see the matches. You know, with my eyes. You can see what the pros are having problems with. Any time 9 units can wipe out a maxed late game zerg army you know something's wrong. The only reason it's not worse is that high level zerg players seem to be magicians. But if I had a nickel for every game where the casters were like "well the zerg has 3 more bases, double the income and 50% more army supply. He's really behind in this one!"

This game has it all. It shows the true face of SC2 - basically, the Terrans rule: Against Zerg the hellion/raven/winow mines/heavier units like vikings and odins combo - is unbeatable even by a good player, as long as the Terran player knows how to use these units and does it reasonably well. Ghosts are also important, as they allow to EMP the enemy's corruptors and vipers, but they are also very vulnerable. But against the Protoss, the ghosts reign supreme, as their EMP takes both the Protoss' energy and their shield down, and then a snipe comes along.. So a good Terran plays is supposed to win against any other race.

I must say, it does appear that if the two players in question are evenly matched in skill, which these two are, the advantage now goes to Terran, where once it went to Zerg. In 2018 Serral got Zerg nerfed by winning everything possible, and styling on top Terrans repeatedly. They nerfed Banes, so they are now useless against everything that isn't light (so useless against Ghosts, having previously been the only decent counter). They nerfed Broodlord range, so now Ghosts and Thors can just wreck them with no real counter play from Zerg. And they nerfed Infestors by getting rid of Infested Terran, which was completely fair, but they also made the unit very weak and ineffective, even though it is necessary in Zerg late game. So now re-watch Game 1: even though Reynor completely deflects all Terran early game aggression, leaving him undoubtedly ahead, and in control, he still loses once it gets to Ghost, Tank, Thor, Hellbat. The Ghost counters EVERY Zerg late game unit; Broodlords, Infestors, Ultras, Corruptors, Vipers, Lurkers. Ghosts counter them all. Isn't that why they nerfed Banelings, because they were good against everything? Now it is the Ghost which is strong against every Zerg unit except Lings and Banes. So throw in some Tanks, Mines and Hellbats and it is GG for Zerg, no matter how good the early game was for them. Both players are amazing. Maru is superb. But you can see that once it gets to late game, it can only go the way of Terran, if the players are equal in skill.

Lol you must be new to Starcraft 2. Every major tournament basically in the last 3 years won by Zerg, Serral Dark Reynor. Is basically one of 2-3 terrrans in the world capable of beating them and you say Ghosts are overpowered? No other Terran can make it work really... It's only Maru. You should look into the history of LOTV

@@1blueeye In the comment I mentioned Zerg was nerfed, largely due to the success of Serral in 2018. So this is historically accurate, regarding Sc2 isn't it? So you are just repeating what I have already said. Also, saying that 'only Maru can make it work' is probably because he is the only player as good as Serral, Reynor or Dark. The other Terrans are just not at the same level. My point was: if a Zerg and Terran are at the same level of ability, the current balance gives Terran the upper hand, just as the previous balance in 2018/2019, gave Zerg the upper hand. Ghosts hard counter every Zerg late game unit (about seven unit types in total), most mid game units, and not even Banelings can counter them anymore, as Ghosts are not 'Light'. That is strong. I don't expect Cure or Bunny to regularly beat Serral, Reynor and Dark in this or any patch, because they are not at the same level. Maru is absolutely at that level though, and arguably better some of those Zergs. Basically I am happy to admit that Zerg was overpowered in the last patch. Now that the balance change has tipped the scales the other way, it seems you are not ready to admit it, and instead try to belittle the understanding of someone who expresses that opinion. You are welcome to do so, I will not be offended. Zerg had their time. Now is a good time for Terran to take down some tournaments, and no one better suited to that task than Maru himself. Reynor is faster, has better multitasking and is more talented than Maru. But Maru is in a league of his own when it comes to mid game adjustments and unit counters. He always ends up with the best possible units to counter what his opponents have.
