@@keizan5132 I dont know, all I see was both guys doing the exact same build for 6 games, and Clem micro was better than Reynor micro for 4 of those games. There was no mind game, no strategy, no adjustment whatsoever, just both guys fighting over and over with the same units comp until one guy mis-micro and lose. The series of Clem vs Serral was a better one imo because Serral willing to try different things and force Clem to also change his strategy as well to adapt those change. As fast-pace and exciting the Clem vs Reynor match was, it was not "great" if you look from that view point.

I don't know how he held the 3-3 attacks by Clem for so long with 1-1 (edit, actually 1-3 with a late missle upgrade) in the last game. Unbelievable.

I feel like Clem has grown enough to the point where he could compete in GSL and potentially win. Being down 0-3 and pulling a reverse sweep against a player like Reynor is unheard of. Clem feels more dominant than Innovation or Maru in their primes. This was the best finals I've seen in probably a decade of starcraft 2. Maybe the greatest finals ever in my opinion. 7 games and none of them were blowouts. Neck and neck until the very end of each match. So much going on at every single moment of each game. Heavy macro on both sides yet so much action and micro at every stage. When it was 0 to 3 I was pretty sure that Clem was done. Every win that he put on the board got me more and more excited for the next match. The final match I thought Clem was dead for sure after he lost 24 SCV's to banelings but he miraculously came back even with Reynor not making any huge mistakes. absolutely crazy finals and worthy of one of the greatest series in starcraft 2 history.

Clem played an Epic series there. Raynor just threw the series for himself. Stop doing what worked in the first 2 games, and tech switched into terrible lurker tech against ghost in the last few matches. Whats most impressive is how well Raynor actually did with a bad strategy. Clem just did everything right and his strategy carried him through with his god like micro. Had Raynor opened with some aggressive roach, used nydus or muta in the mid games to shut down some of that medivac and opened up more harass, he could have cleaned up any one of those last 4 matches. Still one of the best series of the year, hands down. What a Grand Final it was. Bravo to both incredibly talented and inspiring players. Was pure joy to watch this and not blink for 2 hours.

nah that is the problem. clem opens banshee and that shuts down roach entirely. and if you pay attention, he did banshee builds for the last four games. Super safe against roach all in. Muta play against clem is suicidal (cite the serral v clem game 2) because clem can really micro and protect his mineral and multi prongs attack at the same time. I agree with nydus play. queen nydus all in for example.

One of the greatest finals/comback/TvZ/overall SC2 games ever, however you like to call it. Reynor played as well as a top Zerg player could realistically play, but Clem simply played probably the best TvZ in the last 4 games, no cheese, no luck, only good honest late game wins with perfect macro, micro and multitasking. The icing on the cake is that both player played aggressive style so all the the games were just mind-blowingly fast and entertaining from start to finish. I am speechless.

As exciting as a reversed-sweep can be and as hard it could have been for Clem. I agree with ppl saying this is not the "best final ever". The 4 victories for Clem looked the same : no need for tanks, no need for Thors, no need for BC, no need for creativity. Just start : reaper + helions into Cloaked banshees, then bio-ball with marines + marauders + medivacs + MINES (OP vs Zerg imo) then ghosts when your opponent start to make vipers. We barely saw roaches, mutalisks or ultralisks from Reynor's side. That could have been a good counter to this "basic" terran strat in TvZ. Clem is a micro god and can adapt quickly in macro but... that's a bit sad we feel he didn't even have to since it was a copy + paste game 4 times

If a decent S class terran gets momentum it's game over. That's one of SC2's biggest problems on TvZ - besides the fact that ghosts counter every single t3 unit and WMs require no micro. If Serral played Toss, Zerg would had 2 less nerf patches on their back.

And it's a problem because the ghost becomes a mandatory unit in any late game and its versatility makes it very difficult to master perfectly (Clem is one of the rare terrans to do it so well).

Reynor's philosophy is apparently if you don't succeed, try the exact same thing and hope it works next time. Honestly shocking how bad his play was. Forgetting upgrades, no spire, random army suicide missions... Not gonna win championships playing like that. I really don't understand why some to Zerg players think they can completely skip spire. You just get absolutely wrecked by Libs in the late game, and a few corrupotors go a long way.

Man If it's a double elimination tournament then you have to get the advantage. In fighting games you have to send the guy in grands to losers and then beat them in another series lol. Only reason sc2 can't do that is the time each match takes

Tanks are generally a strong anchor point if you can defend them, but tanks are very vulnerable to runbys from lings and banes. Mines are more trade efficient, and in fast-paced game generally easier to kite someone into mines than into tanks.

I feel like Terran lack the mobility to maneuver in a big map to cover all ground. So it's best to just strike the enemy and play around their base aggressively.
