CJ it may be time for an intervention from your local reefing friends. You are addicted to adding tangs to your reef tank. ; ) Love the uploads and have enjoyed spending my weekend watching your journey with this 120.

Helpful video, I've been avoiding removing a fast killer fish for months now and it has stopped me from adding any more fish as he has taken 2 already, with finals all set and done and this inspiration I'm going to get him! Thanks!

looking good cj can I ask have you quarantined the tangs/fish, it's just I have tried almost the same trio of tangs and got hit hard with white spot, then fallowed my tank and tried just a powder blue also got white spot just not as bad ended up removing him after 3 months. and I did quarantine my fish but still no success. so I guess my question is what's your secret?
@CJSAQUARIUMS7 жыл бұрын
Simon Grimwood well cycled tank... good water quality... giving fish a scape to encourage there natural behaviors .. and most important buying from a trusted LFS that lets me check out fish over time for good health

Great update. The wrasse burying itself was awesome. Glad you caught that on camera. Hey what is the Blue with Yellow fin fish? That looks amazing this tank. Might consider getting one for mine.

hey CJ great video!!! you should see about getting a few anthias. I have a male dispar and 3 females and man do they add color and movement to the tank. Can't wait to see the next update 😁

A flame wrasse is super bright and beautiful, just something to consider! orange/yellow/red and super eye catching. Also if you want lots of different colors plate corals are an awesome choice, they come in all kinds of colors if you look around enough.
@CJSAQUARIUMS7 жыл бұрын
yes I love those fish but the price is just a little too high for me.. a trio goes for $300
@adamgolden18027 жыл бұрын
That makes sense. A male dusky wrasse has lots of different colors although you might need to be up close to see it very well.

My one spot foxface swims all around the tank, and his night time camo mode is super cool! Have you considered an Achilles Tang? Personally I feel that his color and pattern is absolutely warlike and regal. I've got about 21 fishes in my reefer 525, 4 of which are tangs. I like my fishes that do different things in different areas of the tank, kinda spreads out the real-estate of the available water volume imo. But like you said, to each their own. Love the scape, I hope we will be seeing some corals soon!

Some kind of foxface would be great, whether it's a magnificent or one spot. They're really active, peaceful, pick at algae on the rock, and can have a really interesting coloration.

You should get a pair of phantom clown fish to add different colors, patters, and movement. Do whatever u like though it's just a thought.
@jackmccoy85747 жыл бұрын
With the tangs that you get (whether it's a purple tang or a yellow Eye kole tang), make sure that it is bigger then its genus counterpart (i.e. Purple is bigger then yellow, kole is bigger then tomini). U want to make sure he doesn't get bullied by the other larger tangs, because like you said in the livestream, your yellow tang will kill. Just a thought 👍🏻
@DCALLUS237 жыл бұрын
Ps purple tang gets my vote, one of the best looking fish you can buy, colour is gorgeous the only downside aggressiveness towards your yellow tang although 2 zebrasomas in one tank can be done with a bit of luck 👍

My suggestions: Hippo/Regal Tang, Chevron Tang, Six Line Wrasse, or school of Anthias
@CJSAQUARIUMS7 жыл бұрын
great ideas but 9'' fish would be the max size i would add... so that eliminates a bung of tangs that would look great as juveniles.. anthias are still a realistic option tho...

@kati83657 жыл бұрын
Here are my suggestions: AT the moment you only have big fishes in your tank, so maybe 3-5 pseudanthias squamipinnis or pseudanthias tuka , 3-5 chromis viridis, 1 gramma loreto and a chelmon rostratus ( you have do be shure that he is feeding- difficult fish). I have only a nano reef tank ( katis_reef_tank on Instagram )so I can give you only small fish suggestions. 😉 Please apologize my bad english but Iam from germany. 😶 P.S. Two kinds of schooling fishes for example violet (tuka)and green ( chromis viridis) would be looking amazing.💕
@kati83657 жыл бұрын
and maybe a longnose hawkfish or neocirrhites armatus. What a pity that a ostracion cubicus is toxic. 🤔😤

Hey maybe with the removal of those fish u can get rid of that gha, not an expert, but more fish, more waste, higher nitrates/phosphates, don't believe what ur test kits show, if u have gha, u have a nutrient problem, I know because I've had the same thing, keep doing what u do!!
@CJSAQUARIUMS7 жыл бұрын
T Surro still not done ... I'll continue add fish until my export methods cannot keep up.. I'll also take advantage of corals absorbing and feeding on those nutrients... time will tell but def enjoy the ride while u are here 🍻
