After an overwhelming amount of emails and support I've Decided to Turn Comments back on to allow this great community the chance to grow and communicate on my channel... BUT there will be 0 tolerance for ignorance, TROLLS, UNSOLICITED ADVICE .. So if anything commented falls into that category ill permanently block you.. No explanation needed... NO WARNINGS .. Thanks for continuing to watch the journey as I continue progressing in the hobby and with this 120g soon to be reef tank.. More mistakes to come for sure.. REMEMBER my channel is not a "how to" or teaching the best practices in the hobby.. this is purely documenting my OWN journey for better or worse.. some will watch waiting for the bad and some will watch waiting for the success.. but at the end of the day ill do my best to make this tank this will be my best work yet... as always... KEEP DOING WHAT YALL DO! BE EAZY!

CJ, I just binge watched your whole 120 gallon series.Ever since a few episodes into it I just wanted to get through to the end so I could post this (and I rarely post on youtube). Awesome work! I really appreciate both the effort you take to edit and make the audio and video look good and interesting as well as your thoughts and honesty about what and why you do what you do. I'm still just researching and dreaming about my future reef and it's been a really nice ride following your path with your 120 gallon reef. It's been very educational and I learned a lot but mostly it's been a pleasure just to listen to you tell your story, both the good and the bad. We've all been there and can relate. I was sad about hearing about all the trolls and idiots throwing shit at you. They exist everywhere but for some reason I tend to see them a lot in the fishkeeping forums and groups. Toxic and ignorant. Maybe they get attracted to the skimmate? But just like with the skimmer, we just rinse and repeat. Peace! And I look forward to watching any updates!

Great tank man and I like the set-up- sump, tank and especially aquascaping wise! Coolcaves and stuff I always failed at that haha. Friendly advice from a fellow reefer....I mix garlic in with the food and put it in water, let it soak over night (i use mysis)...then I use a dropper to feed my fish. Helps with their immune system. GREAT TANK!

Haven't watched in a while C.. But it's looking good dude.. Sorry for your losses.. I've been in this for a long time, and just over the last couple of years, discovered that balance you spoke of.. I think it illudes many.. My system hasn't fully recovered from my crash, and I'm not rushing.. But yours looks like it is coming along good.. Keep it up!

Hey CJ Props to your channel, really enjoy your tanks and your version of videos. Actually kinda relaxing to watch lol. Anyway seen you have great variety in fish but Im left wondering why you never have anthias?
@CJSAQUARIUMS7 жыл бұрын
i may try some when i invest in a auto feeder.. for now im still working out my stock list.. alittle gun shy on expensive fish after all the losses i had.. ill start adding more fish soon tho

CJ'S AQUARIUMS totally understandable, I've had good luck with my anthias with 2 feedings a day. I think you would really enjoy them but definitely research them. Good luck with your reef👍🏻

And on BRS TV A recommended curing the rock but wasn't your tank running for a long time before you had any issues with it at all
@tilexcan7 жыл бұрын
I started my 200 gallon tank with pukani rock that I soaked in bleach for three weeks in tap water. When done I rinsed the rock and put back in my trash cans with more tap water and declorinator. I then let the rock dry for a few days before putting in my tank. I then added live sand and salt water and let the system run for a couple weeks only before adding six clown fish. I started my tank July 1 and now have 32 coral frags, 6 tangs, 6 clown fish, 1 magnificent rabbit fish, flame angel, coral beauty angel, two watchman gobies, red bubble tip anemone, and assorted crabs, shrimp, snails. I have yet to see any green hair algae other than a little in my refugium.

Also just wondering 60I may be starting a 75 gallon reef aquarium and I want to know does curing the rock stop the algae completely from growing on it ?
@CJSAQUARIUMS7 жыл бұрын
Joe curing rock helps remove the fuel (nutrients) that is released from the rock... but u may still experience some... nothing is full proof
@Cherub727 жыл бұрын
the biggest algae blooms I've seen is when i leave filter floss and pads in for more then a day. Have you tried not using those items? Or at least taking them out at the end of the day.

Hello from Belgium CJ. Just to give you some support as I had the same as you. I don’t have a magic receipt (who does?) but by reducing drastically the light in the DT, using a very limited amount of GFO, it really helped. Then adding 1 tripneuste (urchin) and very very slowly increasing the lights later all went better. But boy, it took so long... and then I had cyano, and I had marine velvet, loosing 12fishes in 3days... so your on the good track there, congratulations ! Maybe next time we will cure the rocks in the garage instead of the DT, don’t you think ? Anyway, we learn day by day. I just setup a sulfur reactor because my po4 are ok but still i have high nitrates, i know its the rocks, so many crevices and crud died in there. Good luck !

What are your thoughts on calcium reactors cj ? im thinking of switching from dosing when i upgrade to my 100 gallon reef since a kiddy is on the way. your reef has progressed really nicely man going from here to the latest videos big difference.

great info!! can i do a blackout with my corals? check out my videos,,, thank you!! what kind of lights are you using?
@umar3 жыл бұрын
There is nothing wrong.. Your dosing calcium and fish poop and feed has phosphates helping algae getting the best nutrition. Your missing a phosphate removal reactor.. If you don't want to change water often then use carbon to reduce elements and other impurities. Amazing fishes lost.. Hardluck..
