In this video Paul Andersen explains how scalar fields can be used to show the distribution of scalar quantities. The most important scalar fields in AP Physics 2 deal with electric potential. Scalar addition can be used to combine scalar fields.

I never considered that the voltage "potential" was also a "field" in it's own right. I always used the word "potential" for the voltage and "field" for the gradient Electric vector field. Learned something new!

As frequency researchers we use scalar waves to transmit frequencies, scalar waves work really well for that. Besides plasma transmission scalar has proved to be very effective. Spooky 2 knows.

Images are 2d scalar fields. The objects we see are rapid changes in the magnitude of these scalars. Your eyeballs are Laplacian transform detectors. Ponder.

The issue with that is its limited magnitude of scale in intensity. Therefore you can capture it and harness it, but because it is so low like the flapping wings of a butterfly you need to have a massive network of machinery for the ability to magnify that potential into any real usable form. For example you can carry a solar panel around, but it's only going to charge your phone. That is unless you have a battery too. Or maybe you can get a wind turbine and carry that around as well.
