Hello I have some good kits but they have horrible painting as they were some of my firsts. Do you think this will get rid of very thick acrylic?

Will the stripping process damage canopy and windshield parts? How hard is it to repaint once it’s stripped?

I’ve used this several times. It had a tendency to haze up clear parts but you can polish them back but it takes several goes and then a dip in Future or Pledge Revive It as is known now brings back the clarity. Repainting is then as straight forward as it the kit was new but I’d also recommend wiping the model with Isopropyl Alcohol after the over cleaner treatment just in case there is any residue left behind which may affect any new paint that gets applied over the top.

The Mr muscle you used, is it the kind with lye? (sodium hydroxide)

Can it remove lacquer paints? Like the Tamiya spray paints?

It can with some but i have found a few that it will not touch. I just use Mr Hobby thinner in these cases.

Have you tried removing varnish and decals with it or just paint?

it will chew through decal and clear coats as well. With the decals it attacks the paint under the decal.
