That pen I used was a Molotow Chrome marker. Great product. Not cheap though as their chrome pens come in around $11. With a coupon at Hobby Lobby you can get one at 40% off. Paint markers are perfect for what you're looking for. Check out Mr Hobby Gundam markers. They come in a full range of colors and sizes. Molotow also makes thin markers in black which will work for you too

What are the best colors to start with? I think I'm gonna start with Vallejo and grow from there. Can you give me any advice?
@barbatosrex94733 жыл бұрын
Vallejo is a good choice if your going to brush paint. Vallejo Model Color is great for brush painting. It's different if your going to airbrush, that's a whole different thing. Is it brush painting your doing?
@ouestudent20133 жыл бұрын
I’m in that exact same boat I’m doing the cars starting out with I bought an air brush so I’d say I’m primarily going to use that I may buy some spray cans as well but I’m already good with them I want to learn more and do more with.. I know you have to thin them and everything but what thinner to use with what paint what’s good paints to air brush with I’ll use brush for detailing and everything but everything else I plan to air brush or spray can

So I am just starting out. I got a decent airbrush with a declarable compressor canister. What paints do you recommend? mr hobby or Tamiya? my current kit reccomends ammo but id rather go for an acrylic that isn't 10 dollars a bottle lol
@barbatosrex94733 жыл бұрын
I love both Mr and Tamiya. Besides both being different types of paint, one is a lacquer and the other is an acrylic lacquer, Mr has way more color choices. They both go on great. I would personally buy 2 colors from each brand and test them out for yourself. It won't cost you much and just pick colors you'll use anyway. Plus both use lacquer thinner. Please keep me updated

@@barbatosrex9473 I'm sorry I meant "detachable". I watched your video on the No-Name Universal Air compressor and was blown away by the results. I currently live in an apartment and can't have something loud as a regular compressor. So when that gets back in stock I'll buy that. I have zero products at the moment besides a cutting matt / an entry level god hand nippers (GH-PN-125) and Tamiya extra thin quick setting cement. I will try to keep you updated but it may be slow as finances can only handle so many purchases at once haha. Also another question how long does spray gunner take to restock their products? (Thank you so much for your informative videos and quick responses it really raises my confidence getting into this hobby)

Not sure if you are familiar with Crafta or not - he has a channel as well. When you mentioned those labels it reminded me of something he was using. It's a Brother cutting machine, which he uses to make stickers out of what I believe is vinyl. He draws them out on a program, then the device cuts them out similar to how a printer works. Anyway, he uses them for panel line scribing! It's a much better solution than guide tape. I thought you may be interested, here's the link to the video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eWS8npR5lJmgjKM

I'm actually unemployed and work part time for Shipt. My wife is disabled and can't leave the house as she can no longer drive. I worked part time at a hobby warehouse a year ago and I worked for supplies and kits. I didn't take home a pay. I was helping a friend who owns it. When I was younger I had a massive collection of rare kits and tons of supplies. I even opened my own small hobby shop in the early 90s. Over the years of moving and living life I lost it all. When I got the opportunity to work at my buddies place I took it as I knew I normally couldn't afford all this stuff. Then I close to a few companies and I would get different supplies and promos from them. I'm just filling out the rest of my room using what little cash I'm making from ad revenue here. It's a wonder that I've been able to get my hobby room back from years ago in the 2nd half of my life. It's my Fortress Of Solitude so to speak. I used to drive for a living, 225 miles a day for the last 30 years so it's a pleasure to be home close to my wife and filming these videos for the community of model builders. This is the actual first time I've spoken about any of this here. It looks like I'm loaded I guess but I barely make over $30K a year. Thanks for watching
