Wow, that's amazing detail. The only thing missing on the gladhands are the gaskets, of which I always carried a few in my pocket. They were always subject to failure, especially up here in the cold of Northern Ontario 😁

The 4-8-4 was renumbered 8444 until the GP30 was retired.

Very nice locomotive James, certainly the best GP30 I've seen so far! I'm personally waiting for run 2 when they do the BNSF GP39Es, not my favorite iteration of the GP30 because BN yanked the 30 cab off of some and stuck a 35/40 cab in its place which I've often referred to them as "chop shop" GP30s, lol! All that being said, no one has done those locomotives in plastic until now, so I'm definitely interested to see how they turn out!

These are nice locos. I pre-ordered 2 but UPS says they won't be here until Monday. I am surprised and excited they actually did the B units.

The Steam UP844 was never retired from the locomotive roster 844 was the original # for the new steam engine. When up purchased the GP30's they numbered them from 700 to 800's this was an issue for the steam engine # so a plan was made to change the steam engine to 8444 until the retirement of the GP30 844. Then the steam engine went back to it original # and will stay the UP844.

My first ever dcc unit was a gp30 nkp, it was a solid unit then one day it wasn’t. Literally have no clue what happened one minute it ran perfectly the very next the thing blew gears I took it apart but never knew how to fix it, even considered using its frame and customizing a 40 on the 30 frame but also didn’t get far. Now I’m all small steam

I only wish they’d do the Reading Bee Line GP30 engines. Only ones I can find on the market are the P2k and Bachmann. Kind of old models so a new modern release would be amazing.
