Honestly, this is the best video I've seen so far to explain the concept of applying a scaled agile framework. Everyone else seems to define everything with other technical definitions - THANK YOU!

Love your videos. They are short, clear and are applied to the daily things that happen in a team or organization.

This helps a lot and the google anolgy makes perfect sense and probably fits best to use when trying to understand SAFe. Thank you

So if you have multiple large solutions, would that be a portfolio? For example, how you said Google for regular people and Google streaming?
@AngeloTheBA Жыл бұрын
Not quite. Portfolio is about how funding & investment happens enterprise-wide. In theory, you can have multiple large solutions and still not run in a lean agile way at the Portfolio level. However, an organization committed to SAFe enough to properly having multiple large solutions is likely going to want to also adopt Portfolio SAFe
@aallan73653 жыл бұрын
Is the "large Solution" at the portfolio level or below? Doesn't the portfolio level drive businesses value sometimes represented on Kan ban board? Also Is it safe to assume that if objectives are aligned, products derive form the program level? And if they align programs derive from the portfolio level?

Thank you for the good explanation. Could you please explain value streams on the Portfolio level? What will sit there?
@AngeloTheBA4 жыл бұрын
This will explain it better than I could in a comment - www.scaledagileframework.com/value-streams/ but I'll consider making a video in the future if there is enough demand

Great video, could you please explain IT4IT, how to implement it and how is related with SAFE? Thanks!!!
@AngeloTheBA4 жыл бұрын
I'm not very familiar with IT4IT, but from what I could understand it is more of a technical architecture framework where as SAFe is a development framework. Simple analogy is SAFe is a method to determine what you develop (features & priorities) and at what rhythm and IT4IT is more about how to develop and where to put it in you infrastructure.

Still very confused, you seem to have just said here are the managers in different products and the hierarchy of managers for those. This has always been the case, so what is different? What does a manager have to do that he wouldn't have done before? Sorry if this seems a stupid question, it is just I can only see a new set of buzz words, surely there is more to it?
@AngeloTheBA Жыл бұрын
SAFe really is about applying the ideas of the Agile Scrum, which centers around HOW the team works together, beyond a team level. So it not inventing the concept of hierarchies, it is giving options on how to organize those hierarchies and how the individuals in those hierarchies should interact. In the same way that SCRUM didnt invent the idea of developers building software, instead it prescribed HOW those developer should work together. This video might make it more clear kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJqsdX2mfpKKZ6c

@AngeloTheBA thanks for the reply. So Safe is just planning and budgeting in 3 month intervals rather than 1 year and at the level above th3 d3velopers is probably consisting of the Development Manager, project manager and finance manager?
@AngeloTheBA Жыл бұрын
@@MrMattberry1 Yes, but there are a few layers of SAFe so the included stakesholders become higher level as you go up. Solution Architects, Enterprise Architects, Department Head, Product Managers, etc. SAFe has specific titles/roles it uses.

Great explanation! very nice. Can you maybe do a video where you compare the LeSS framework to SAFe? This would be very helpful :) Thanks again!
@AngeloTheBA4 жыл бұрын
I'll work on creating a video, but the short version is... LeSS is one product developed by multiple teams and it doesn't add a bunch of additional things outside of normal SCRUM ceremonies, it just includes multiple teams. SAFe is multiple products & multiple products adding layers above the scrum team to help management coordinate together better.

4 minutes into the video and he did not talk about SAFe yet. Are these comments fake? What is SAFe?
@AngeloTheBA2 жыл бұрын
This video is an example of how safe might look at a real organization. Most of the people commenting watched the first part that was published just before which provides the context. Here is the part 1 - kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJemf4Bqh9uerac also if you are familiar with SCRUM this video might help you grasp what SAFe hopes to accomplish - kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJqsdX2mfpKKZ6c
