I largely gave up model building, many years ago. I was considering getting back into it; however, work, laid off ('08) re-training, and other problems made such a hobby, generally un-attainable. But I still have a few model kits in storage. Great to see an expert with real tools [ eg. air brush ], which I never splurged on.

This was very well done. Particularly, I enjoy the fact you did not make the camo scheme "uniform". This is evident when one looks at the opposing schürzen. Thanks for this (as always).

DAMN model glue must've advanced ages since I was a kid, I can remember holding pieces together for 15minutes before it started to dry!, and how many remember the damn glue strings floating away from the models when the glue started to get old?
@robertgriffin6625 жыл бұрын
I still use testors glue in the orange and white tube! I've tryed the tamiya extra thin liquid glue. It's ok and I'm probably not using it correctly. But it likes the thin plastic and not the warhammer 40k thick stuff. Takes awhile to dry.

when I paint the small details it seems my paint goes on way to thin, (using Vallejo) am I doing something wrong or do i need to put down 10 coats of the stuff? thanks for any input you can give
@ScaleModelAircraft6 жыл бұрын
For small details I am using various paints from Gsi, Tamiya to Vallejo (now rarely I am using the Vallejo). With paint retarder I can use any colour. You should use only two coats and get nice coverage. Maby you should mix colors with less thinner (white cap) or model air you shouldn't thin at all. You can also wait for a minute before you start paintjob. All the best! Dusan.

All my panzer iv's are from dragon. They all have the one piece molded tub which is much better. Some have individual pe side skirts. Downside is they are much higher priced kits. This kit looks pretty good though.
@henrikhilskov6 жыл бұрын
Maybe more expensive than others. However compared to Tamiyas version of Pzkmpf IV any version they dont share the same mistakes. Tamiya have no botton details and are totally wrong on the cover of the front driving sprocket cover not in scale. Tamiya also dont have the fuel intake covers on the left hull side at all. Next on the Tamiyas Pzkmpf IV Ausf D the driver vision slot is also put the wrong place with a couple of milimeters. One thing not good on this model is the plastic pice put in the front hull from inside will prevent you from doing any internal details. But far more easy to just drop that on this model instead of doing a lot of rebuild on the Tamiya version. What I miss here on this is the internal details of the crew doors so hard to let them be open and add crew in the openings. But thanks of the recomendation of the "S" glue it is far superior to other similar glues. However on the weathering I doubt you would fine any late Ausf H that had been painted panzer grey from factory. And If you think the usage of the gun had burned off all the paint down to the metal of the gun you are wrong on this weathering the average lifetime for a german tank was only 4 months. And in particual this division was more or lees erased within few months of battle. So made it look mostly directly from factory as you had did is far more realistic. Continue the good work.

Dusan, great video as always can I ask your opinion on the Mr Hobby carving knife that you are using on this build please, does come with spare blades or do you resharpen it when it goes blunt?
@ScaleModelAircraft7 жыл бұрын
I really like it. The blade is very thick and insanely sharp. Yes, You can buy a spare blade. One piece in the box. This blade is excellent and made from Japan polycarbonate steel and You can sharpen it ... like Katana Sword :) All the best! Dusan.

I love Academy model kits that are released nowadays but they are so underrated... Despite their dramatic improvements, people still remember the old Academy that used to rip off Tamiya Panzer IV.
