Without any doubt, this can and should be bookmarked as a full-cycle soviet armour building, painting and weathering tutorial.

I love your work - I am a long-time fan. Question: Is there anywhere in your series of videos where you cover the weathering process and materials used for the lower chassis of this JSU-152? Is there something 'close'? You really did a great job on it and I could learn a lot from your approach.

Hi there, wonderful work!!! Did you use any chipping fluid for the white camo? Or did you put it directly on the green color? Thanks in advance!!
@scalemodelresearch9 ай бұрын
Thank you! I used the chipping fluid for winter camouflage.

I have seen so many built 1:35 tanks with no aerials! Is this common with builders? I always include them. PS fantastic model.

Just fantastic job mate and nevertheless really good video editing skills.
HI, at around 21:34 you have sprayed flat white, and then seem to immediately use a brush to remove most of it to create the effect. Please can I ask, how come it doesnt brush off the paint coats underneath?? Did you add varnish between the green and the white coats?? if i try this, it removes every layer underneath!! thank you!
@scalemodelresearch11 ай бұрын
Hello. Sorry for the late reply. The bottom paint is lacquer and the top paint is acrylic. The lacquer has a strong paint film and will not be removed by brushing.

Thank you very much. Could I also ask, do you dilute your varnish?? And how please? I've used tamiya, satin, matt, gloss pledge floor varnish and I just can't figure it out!!! It looks like tiny water drop!yes in it, like when you spray glass?! It's never smooth, and STILL my panel miners won't run smoothly down lines etc, it just stays put! I want my panel liner to flow down the lines!! What should I dilute tamiya varnish with please?!! Thank you so much!!

What is the name of the putty and powder that you use at minute 10:49? Thanks for your time!
@scalemodelresearch Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Baby powder. It's to keep it from sticking to your fingers. The putty is made with Kreos putty.
@julio9901 Жыл бұрын
Does baby powder not affect the primer or do you usually clean it first? If so, could you tell me what you use to remove that. Thank you !@@scalemodelresearch

What ratio and psi do you use for mr color paints? I love how they spray but they keep blocking my airbrush up after a few coats
@scalemodelresearch Жыл бұрын
Thank you. My airbrush is an old and inexpensive model, so the air pressure is not adjustable. The dilution rate of Mr. Color also depends on what you want to express at the time, so I think it's a good idea to try different things yourself.

Great video, always admired those who post their work to share. Whether it be tips and idea or just for sheer enjoyment, so worth watching. 🙏 If I may ask, as someone who still isn't brave enough to get back into modelling, of course this isn't your first build and it took time to develop these skills, but did you start modelling deciding to always weather each kit? Or did you start out building them and creating the standard, 'out of the factory' look? I have nothing against either style of finished presentation, but I admit that thinking about a realistic, weathered final stage has discouraged me. ありがとうございます.
@scalemodelresearch Жыл бұрын
Thank you. At first I did nothing but study painting. I still don't get it right a lot of the time and I am still learning. I think my skills are slowly improving without me realizing it, though. I would like to get better at it.
Joseph. JSU-152 and ISU-152 are interchangeable. The SU-152 was the original version built upon the KV-1S platform. The chassis was discontinued in favor of the the IS (Iosif Stalin) tank which became the new platform for the ISU-152.
