Hi i'm just learning this topic. I'm asking myself three questions in this order to find out: 1)Can you put it in order? No -> Nominal 2)If Yes->Does the difference have meaning and can be measured? No->Ordinal 3)If Yes->Does multiplying the value by 2x give you something truly 2x bigger? If yes -> Ratio If No -> Interval

I was a bit confused by the temperature example, specifically why 60 degrees is not twice as much as 30 degrees, but I understood everything else. Great video and thanks for the upload!
@quentinm.williams93 жыл бұрын
because there is no true zero point when recording temperature which means that it can fall below zero. so technically 60 degrees is not 2 times as hot as 30. that would be like say 2 degrees is 2 times as hot as 1 but we can't measure that because temperature doesn't have a definitive zero point

@@quentinm.williams9now I understand I have been finding clues as to how but I realize, in interval variable Zero is not meaningful

One thing to rectify, at 9:20 Marks/grades are always quantitative data and not ratio scale data. Only if grades are given in alphabets then it’s ordinal data. One example of ratio data scale could be currency value.

Hi, I just wanted to address a small issue in some of your videos that come in my way whenever I'm studying. Unlike this video, most of your videos, the vocals are kind of low, its hard for me to hear therefore for me to focus gets super hard. Is it possible if you could check you setting and increase the volume? By the way, I love your videos and is one of the best informative youtube channels for students
