I sand down the knurling and then add some ac glue to the end of the sanded axle. Let the glue dry so it flows to the end of the axle. The glue builds up what you just sanded off the axle and the plastic that came off of the wheel. Add your shims, then press in the axle...VIOLA, there ya have it. Roll the front wheels to round them out...works for me

Do the front axle and wheels even do anything? Surely the extra weight and rolling resistance of the axle and wheels, is more than the extra friction if the weight is all sitting on the braids? Or are there regulations that say the car has to have all 4 wheels sitting on the track?

Hi, what paint did you use on your wooden track? Thanks :)

What do you do if the front tires don’t touch the track. How do you lower it when it’s determined by the braids? Thanks for your time!

Well sometimes it is just the braids. Try taking a pliers and flattening them. This does work. But sometimes without modifying the car, there is not much to do.

Homeracingworld Thanks for the quick response! And I do replace the guide what do I replace it with? Thanks again

Sheldon Norton this is probably way late but most racers use thin slot-it braid or similar. It really gets the guide way down the slot if the wheels allow.
