Love that you raced non 🧲! To me it's much funnier racing that way, you get a lot more skills and once you manage to avoid drifting in the corners see the difficult and fun that it is. Well done!

The good thing about magnets is they make great pace cars to race against.

I have managed the deslot/reslot trick myself when racing on the club track, having managed it 4 times in one night, which is still a club record. Adding some lead weight to the chassis will help to compensate for the removal of the magnet and help with the loss of traction/rear end sliding out.

Nice skilled action there Mo! 🙂 I had a coyotee on that one! Very interresting, how the cars are being built, when takling of the Bodies. I was curious, how the Lotus would behave, because the guide keel is way behind the front axxle. That is actually pretty bad for a slotcar. But it runs. Adding weight is mandatory, after taking off the magnets here. Mybe tire truing, or PU`s would improove them. Nice review brother. Keep it comming. Greets over to you 🙂

Thanks Massimo. I infer you will be putting the magnets back in? I am pleasantly surprised just how well these run given the aft positioning on the guide which reduces the triangular mechanical dynamic (not quite wheel base) back to the real axle. The big takes for me are the bright, glossy finish, the attention to detail and the overall fun, niche experience these models bring. They are in a class all their own. I also see online we can get the championship winning version of the Mario car from the year before and adorned in the classic JPS livery.
@MPSlotCar23 күн бұрын
Hi Darren, in these two I’ll be reinstalling the mag. Mainly because I feel the f1 cars having a mag is somewhat realistic as in real life the cars produce so much downforce. But on some of the other type of cars, once I remove the magnets I may keep them out and add some led weight. They both handled very well. Im impressed. And yes I agree, they both look very nice in terms of finish and detail! That’s right. That beautiful JPS Livery Andretti is out there for grabs 😍 (one of the best liveries in my opinion). Cheers and thanks for watching ✌🏼

Hi Massimo.. The Williams looks great. The other green yolk ile say nothing 😅 I tried the scalextric formula one cars without magnets, and they could barely climb a small incline. Terrible without magnets ,I wonder why this is, when the Policar f1 cars run fantastic without magnets...maybe its the tyre compond on the Scalextric cars 🤔 or chassis design . Thanks for sharing 👍
@MPSlotCar23 күн бұрын
lol fair enough brother 😂 Yeah could be the tire compound 🤔 I’m sure they’d benefit with a little weight added as well to compensate not having a mag perhaps. Cheers buddy! ✌🏼

@MPSlotCar24 күн бұрын
@@OKSlotCarTesting oh wow, flattered 😳😂 that’s where I got a nice chunk of my Carrera F1’S. In terms of performance, they’re really similar to these. The quickest I’ve managed with the Carrera “modern” F1’s is 5.0 on my current layout. The other Scalextric Lotus 79 I have that came in the twin back with the Brabham are doing 5.2’s 5.1’s so very close. Now the modern F1’S by Scalextric are little behind in the 5.5’s but I feel there’s a little room for improvement on those.

Mags are so much more realistic and you get the most out of your lap times😎😎😎
@MPSlotCar23 күн бұрын
I feel for F1 cars they should have a mag, just because in real life they have so much downforce. But it is fun trying to tame them magless as well. Almost like simulating “wet” conditions. Cheers Ted! ✌🏼
@bomamo962021 күн бұрын
Hi Ted. You are one of the few in the Community, that got it to the point. Running them without a magnet is totally unrealistic! Especially F1`s are way too light and they need extra weight to compensate it. Plus you got more speed all the time with magnets. If I listen to all those, who say, without magnet it is more realistic, than I wonder myself if their real cars behave like that, too? I would actually drive as quick as I could to my car dealer and get it repaired in their work-shop. lol But there you go, some are more into without. I am more into magnet. It is in the eye of the beholder, but being realistic is a small burr I guess. Some just love the challenge of mastering their slotcars without magnets, while I think, that this is a buzzkill in terms of speed. The fishtailling included, is slowing the cars down therefore. In that case tire trueing, or PU tires are the only way to compensate it, next to extra weight. That adds up extra costs to it and Scalextric slotcars are very high priced already. And their prices are going up in September. I woulkd rather buy a NSR, Revoslot or Scaleaute therefore. Or maybe two Carrera Evolution slotcars. For a collector they are quite nice, but having them just for putting them on a shell is in my opinion a waste and shame. Slotcars want to be driven. Same goes with all those old Guitars, that are being bought from rich folks, just to put them into a climatized cabin and letting them inside the darkness. Oh, well. Greets over to you from over here 🙂

@@bomamo9620 thanks Bo, someone once commented on an older video of mine that said “ with no mag it’s twice the fun at 1/2 the speed” So an unidentified person responded to that comment on my video and it said “ no one in the history of motor sports racing has ever said that!” I just like to get the most out of slot car racing on my home track.
