Why use boundary surface instead of just lofting?

Do you ever use a profile spline or curve (sketched on the right or front plane) to define the curvature of the boundary surface instead of using tangent influence? If so, how do you choose between the two methods? Thanks for the vids 👍

There is no need to Intersect. You just need to mirror the knit surface 2 times and then knit again. It should form a solid from closed + knit surfaces.
