Crochet braids are always or should be loose like this. U have to stick in the hook, pull the hair through, and u need room to comfortably do it without aggravating ur scalp. And her edges are completely out and free, that's how u do it ppl. No more bald edges in 2021.

The whole time I was thinking I was doing something wrong because I couldn’t cornrow to my scalp at all. My braids were always lifting with hair not really pulled into the braid. Ironically, my crochet always came out well done. Ahhhh I feel soooo much better now! Yaaaaay.

Wow! You are simply beautiful with or without the crochet braids. Being that I was a former professional hairstylist I use to do crochet braids as well. In my experience I've found the tighter the curl or wave the less crochet hair that needs to be installed on a head. In my opinion, some women put too many crochet braids in and their hair looks really heavy and off putting. Now, you young lady installed just the right amount. I think you could put a trash bag on your head and still look just as beautiful as you are. Kudos to you!!

I wish I could show a picture, but I have thin edges so I twist my edges then braid the rest of the hair and only crochet on the braids leaving the front twisted. I use curly so it covers the twist and no stress on my edges.

Honeychild! I feel the Relief!!! I started wearing wigs and braiding my own hair ...because; I couldn't endure the 2-3 week pain, after getting my hair braided, or crochet. Oh my gosh I’m gonna try this!! I’m so tender headed. Last time I cornrows my hair I tried to be as gentle as possible but I still got a headache and had to take them out a day later. Also would be great for a braidout!
