Doc goes over tips on scalping Bermuda lawns including some updated information. Scalping is the only way to make sure 100% of the grass that's showing is solid green. If you don't scalp, you'll have lots of dead, brown grass showing through when you start cutting. He also suggests doing a core aeration at this time since the lawn is going to be short.

I've been following for several years and used this channel to renovate my bermuda lawn! It's come a long way. The only thing I'm missing is a reel mower! Or to be honest, I would definitely use that zero turn for a side hustle and do some mowing for businesses around my house.

Doc, you mentioned doing a light coat of spray pre-emergent. I spread my pre-emergent in early March as well as a scalp and jump start. Temps were warm in San Antonio. I have beautiful green grass now. Is it ok to do another light coat of pre-emergent for preventative measures since it’s still early in the season? I normally have very few weeds and I want to keep it that way as all of the neighboring yards are full of weeds. Muchas Gracias Doc!

I've always heard that if you disturb the surface you will lose the efficiency of your pre em? I'm running my core aerator after the rain this week and then applying pre em afterwards. Have I been told incorrectly?

it only opens up maybe 3% of the surface but scalping and aerating both stir up seeds.
