Thanks Seth, Great video. What if the market goes hard against you right away, do you defend buying a butterfly to move the wing further out and when do you generally do that? Or do you just take the loss at your risk level? Thanks

It depends on how far are your short strikes, what's the IV, how much time until exportation, doesn't it? Note that a) the iron condor is a defined risk strategy and a go against one side is by definition away from the other, so if the shorts are far enough and you should be able to close the other side and b) if you tighten the distance by moving the untested side you decrease your zone of profitability. So what I'm trying to say is that it depends on the setup you had when you entered the trade and what are the market conditions when you're tested on one side. Also, if one of the short part of the spreads goes ITM it's already too late to act efficiently, so you need to manage before that happens, unless you're fine with the loss. Also keep in mind that you might not get filled at your desired price.

It’s not that simple in practice. What if the market hadn’t bounced and dropped through the credit put spread, you would still have a max loss. There’s no way iron condors will work with the current market volatility.
