Ben, this is such a great video and channel! Same happened to me many times. One thing I struggle with is how far will it break support or resistance. It can be hard to know this. Many times I have placed a stop loss in a good area and yet, it does a massive reversal, only to continue in the direction I wanted it to. BUT, if I was to place a much larger stop loss, I'm afraid of losing even more money if it does truly do a HUGE reversal. It's always easy when you see the chart after the day is over, but during trading, you just don't know.

Really needed this, been caught in the same trap and have been getting chopped up. But what I think am realizing (correct me here if I am wrong), these things, trends, support/resistance, candle patterns, indicators etc all have certain weightings. Trend lines would have far less weight than say, support and resistance? Should still be in the back of your mind, but shouldnt have the same weight as supp/res, volume or patterns.
