I've said it before and I'm sure I'll end up saying it again, any game that lets you pay to skip grinding is openly admitting the game is awful. If its worth $40 to NOT have to play the game, then the game is worth less than $0. If you have to pay $40 to skip grinding, its an admission that the grind was added to make the game less fun. Because it would be just as easy to just add a button or two, lets call it a "cheat code" you could click to allow players to skip a grind and unlock the high end cars if they dont have the time to grind, and let players who want to grind just do the grind. Hell, it would be easier, because no one would need to program a storefront.

When that photoshop of what Elden Ring would look like if made by Ubisoft showed up, some dev gets on Twitter going on about "if your game looks like that it's because you want it to, we have options in the game, options for players are great!" MFer your company makes games where the "option" to skip the grind is locked behind microtransactions. If you care that much about player choice, let players choose to skip the grind via a simple toggle that costs nothing. Until then this player chooses not to touch Ubisoft games at all. Like OP said, those games are worth less than $0. Paying nothing to skip the game is the most efficient and cheap way possible to skip the grind! Another friendly reminder, _not_ among the updates was the removal of the always online requirement. The always online requirement is there so it's harder for players to "cheat" to get more credits. Example, you can't dodge the patch that lowers earnings because if you're not online to get the patch then you can't play anymore. The always online requirement has no benefit to the player of this _single player game_ As far as I'm concerned, GT7 is DOA and will remain dead until they remove the always online requirement, or the server being shut down literally kills the game.

3:54 "We're talking $40 for the top tier cars", I think you missed a 0 there, at 3:44 the screen showed a car priced at 20,000,000 cr which would take 10 of the $20 dollar macro-transactions thus meaning that a single car can cost $200. And after looking into it further, that price tag is seen in the "legend car dealership" in-game where the cars are only available for a limited time(admittedly with a rotating stock, 5 cars out of 70 are available at a time, changing some of the cars out once a day, meaning it could be months before you see the car you want again). Furthermore, this max price tag of 20,000,000 cr is also the wallet cap meaning that you can't really just save your money to ensure that you can get any cars that strike your fancy while also using your currency for anything else except the amount that you could easily get within a couple of days.

Played the roughly 20 hrs of content the game had to offer. Ended up with about 1m in profit of credits after hundreds of races with thousands of laps. Pretty much used the same 3 cars for the vast majority of the races, as most of them are restricted to brand of car, performance points, and / or 4WD / region the car was produced. Gotta say this was after purchasing the digital deluxe version with 1.5m credits thrown in. The other REALLY scammy thing is that the progression in this game is locked behind collecting certain cars, most of which are available for purchase. There are some really difficult races, I just cracked on and bought the car which allows you to skip the underlying race. It is cute that they say the cars are linked to real life prices, but the rewards for the races aren't in line with how much professional teams would have earned from winning said races. In most other Gran Turismo games you get an AI racer mode that can basically level up and do endurance races for you while you do something else and could win millions of credits. In other Gran Turismo games you would get 6 different licenses, each one unlocking other content. I nearly did a spit take when the game abruptly just ENDS after getting only 3 of the licenses. Unlocking the other 3, doesn't add any other content. VERY sad. I review bombed it myself.

I just want to point out, they are basically telling us to wait until early april for hypothetically large increases in race payouts, when it took them about a day to nerf them when people realized what races made good money. In other words, they have the capability to rapidly change race payouts, they are making us wait until april in the hopes that people will partake in the microtransaction dependent used car dealership until then. If a car shows up in the used car / legendary dealership you want, you're extremely encouraged to grind very hard or to partake in microtransactions. This is extremely true due to the extremely slow rotating nature of the used car dealership unlike GT5. In GT5 you could miss a car in the dealership and reasonably expect to see it again fairly soon since it refreshed constantly. in GT7 the used car dealership rotates so slowly it may literally be a year before a certain car shows up depending on how poly runs it. That and GT5 used car dealer was literally random, everyone just saw new cars each day. GT7 the dealership is poly-controlled, and has hiked up prices, meaning poly can artificially make a car more rare and costly for no reason other than to encourage microtransactions.

Found a spreadsheet of all the cars that totaled up to around 300 million cr. At $2 million cr/$20 USD, that's roughly $3000 actual money dollars to own the full game. And I found an estimate of about 100 million cr for all the upgrades, so add another $1000 or so to upgrade all the cars. $4000. So, you could buy a video game with cars in it, or an actual car. Your choice.
@kallemetsahalme57012 жыл бұрын
though honestly you cant buy any real car with 4000. so actually this game is a bargain and in gt8 they should actually try selling aston martin for 200k and bmw for 50k. as a bonus option you could buy a junkyard car for 200 bucks but it might not even start at the starting line
@shenanitims40062 жыл бұрын
@@kallemetsahalme5701 For $4000 down, you could make a dent in a real car’s price. And have an actual car. Rather than spending $4000 on something with no actual value.

5:07 and game companies and publishers want people to believe the NFT push was about giving people 'real' ownership of digital items when they aren't even willing to do the bare minimum and let you resell ingame only digital items back into digital credits, yeah, game companies really care about you or me "owning" anything, it's as if they spit in everyone's faces all the time and then they come out with a plastic face shield to sell you and want to be praised for it. The real solution is to not let them spit in your face

What I love about this is that now, with Microsoft having all the money in the world unlike Sony, all they have to do to make the next Forza Motorsport an instant hit is to deliver it on gamepass day one with improved rewards systems and a more rewarding gameplay loop and maybe some ray traced reflections on top, but they can also, of course, just leave it the way it is, which is still better. Sony asked for it, this is not new, this problem comes from the days of GT6 on the PS3, the system has only become greedier and greedier with each new iteration.

I want to pick out another one of Kazunori Yamauchi's sentences here: 8:58 "I would like to have users enjoy lots of cars and races *even without microtransactions* " To me this proves that this "game" is not designed to be played but to be *spent on* (like a mobile game knockoff) He expects people to SPEND on MTX first and foremost - and *THEN* he'd "like to have users enjoy lots of cars and races *even without microtransactions* " ON TOP of that (for good looks... I guess)

Race-rewards are getting an increase of 100% in an upcoming update with some singe race events being given an increase of up to 200% -.- Not only that, but the ability to sell your car, more cars, more cars showing up in the Legendary/Used car dealerships at 1 time, Online races being given a huge credit increase, etc. *SuperGT* made a video on the patch notes -.- Buuuut, people are still focused on the microtransactions because they don't know how to farm properly and have no idea what a Championship is lol

Why is the Metascore so high? Have the ""official" reviewers decided not to adjust their critique in response to the deceitful embargo tactics? Metacritic gives GT an 87 Metascore while the User score is only 1.7. Does Metascore change over time or does it become a static number once it scrapes the first batch of reviews?
@jonathangarmuth89752 жыл бұрын
Sony paid good money for those reviews, you can't just take them down because of some minor customer manipulation tactic!

iirc Nintendo/Square-Enix did the same thing with 'Chocobo Racing GP', and I don't think they were the first to do that either. It's becoming a standard play in the AAA books. It's at the point now where I just wait on any new games to see what happens post-launch. I have lots of games that didn't jerk me around that I can play in the meantime, and in most cases the prices of the new games will only go down.
