There is a common scam going on with Ebay, Aliexpress, and any site that allows third party sellers. You buy something, and they provide you with someone else's tracking number and never send out the item. Which is why the tracking address information doesn't match the seller's nor the buyers. It happens to me several times a year. Luckily I've never had a problem with my credit card company refunding me the money.

Hey Y’all, Just wanted to clear up some confusion. First thing, I didn’t say Xiaomi was an obscure brand. They are everywhere and obviously I’ve heard of them. Secondly, I know I got scammed, the only reason I didn’t cancel the order the moment the guy asked for more money for shipping, was for the content. That shit is dodgy as hell. The only reason I reacted positively to the Xiaomi was because it was from a reputable brand. To be honest, I wasn’t even really expecting to get a TV at all. Hope this clears it up. Loooove you, bye (edit was to respond to concern in video)

Most experts I've seen say 600 nits is bare minimum to consider a panel "real" hdr. And I was more or less referring to the Hisense that tv has HDR, as poorly represented as it is on the screen with it's terrible contrast the Xbox would still detect it as HDR panel because it technically is.

!!! IMPORTANT: Do not change Sharpness from center (e.g. 50 if range is 0-100) with digital (discrete pixel) programming !!! It's often only for analog. Early LCD TVs used the analog circuits for HD CRT TVs (yes, they existed) and did not disable Sharpness in LCD sets, so moving Sharpness away from center in either direction blurred the picture using Analog methods. (one being the famous name I can't remember for adjusting the electron beams. It's some matrix-like math, I think, but in an analog way).

I recently upgraded from a 32" 1080p Samsung tv to a 43" TCL TV. Once I got the colors right (HDR sucked on PC) and got used to the backlighting on the edges, I was pretty happy with it. Walked into a target 5 min away, picked up the tv, paid $280 USD and put it in my room. So far it was a good decision. Love playing games on my PC with it now that I can use 2k/4k resolutions
@HeyItsJonny
@HeyItsJonny 2 жыл бұрын
My experience with the 4k TCL has been kinda bad. The TV crashes frequently, and the HDR introduces some bizarre issues with 1080p signals, primarily a massive green/purple fullscreen glitch. Imagine running an ega game on a 43" TV with 4 colors. Green, purple, darker purple, and scalding red. Now imagine that at literal random, switching to any resolution other than 4k 60hz causes this glitch, regardless of source. It's frustrating. Oh and the "no buttons, cheap speakers" thing kinda sucks too. Bought mine for $160 on Amazon on sale...

US/Canadian and Asian Hisense TV always look like a great value for money options, it sucks that here in Europe we get a significant downgrade. You should try activating the PC mode on those TVs. Some TVs have a toggle in the menu others have it hidden like my Samsung set. If you have no obvious option the try relabelling the HDMI channels to "PC" and see if you get a change in the fine tweaking menu. On my TV for example it gives me full access to all the colour temp controls so I adjusted out the orange hue that TVs are set up with so they look OK in shop displays. PC mode is the lowest latency mode on a TV, lower than game mode.

That Xiaomi Mi TV P1 50" is actually one of the best budget TVs in Europe. The 50" version costs only 369 bucks here. You get a very bright and accurate 4k panel with Android 10 as OS. It runs all common Android TV apps including 3D games with controller support. Chromecast is supported as well. It supports Dolby Vision, HLG, HDR and HDR 10+. The best part: It has a good old mechanical switch to physically disconnect the microphone.

Two things. One: YOU PAID WHAT for a 32" 1080p TV! Thats insanity. I can think of a few other words but since I like you I'll keep em to myself. Two: That Hisense will never make it to its second birthday. They have TERRIBLE powersupplies. Sold about 5 to clients cause they looked amazing at a great price. One failed in the first year. All four of the remaining died before 20 months or so. The one that died under warranty, took Hisense MONTHS to repair. By that time the client had replaced it. The Hisense contracted repair guy called it complete garbage.

I TOTALLY get your point. It amazes me how many trashy Chinese consumer electronic products are now sold in North America. I would understand if those were meant to be sold on third world countries (like my own) where most people simply cannot afford a reputable brand, and / or it's much cheaper and easier for the the vendor to import such crappy items. That's why I'm sticking to my 42" Panasonic LCD from over a decade ago. Good products stay good

I recently got myself LG 43UP81003LR, and I'm surprised to see a cheaper HiSense of the same size seems to have more connecting ports there... which is actually a problem for me since I use component input for Wii sometimes, and needed to get a converter from Amazon, and if I want to connect a laptop or something I need to disconnect something since other two HDMI ports are taken by other consoles on my LG... I can only hope that my TV makes up for the lacking connections with better screen quality(It has a VA display... so almost definitely has better contrast and brightness than HiSense... but pays for it with horrible viewing angles that forced me to get a long wall mount that can rotate it for me XD), but it's not like I can compare XD

I bought 32” Mi TV just a while ago. Mainly because of price (s$260 ~ 240cad ~ 190usd), perfect size for my use case, and “bezelless” design. My version booted up with English as default language and everything so far has been working nicely. I use the tv basically only for watching KZbin/prime video thus gaming capabilities were not concern. Sound is pretty crappy but soundbar with woofer was on shopping list before I even bought the tv. For my use case has been pretty perfect

Paying even the base price for a 1080p TV or monitor is about twice as much as it should be. After receiving several items that were complete trash, items that never arrived (had actual tracking numbers so Ali-Express's auto refund kicked in so I didn't lose any money) I had an item that actually arrived 3 months after the auto-refund happened. Half of the box was absolutely soaked in water (and had been soaking in it for some time) and the cardboard of the outer box and the item's box was little more than wet paper Mache and fell apart just touching it. The contents had mold starting to grow on them and some pieces were broken. This was several years ago and I pretty much closed out my account with Ali Express and have not ordered from them since.

Honestly TVs have gotten so crazy cheap where you can buy a really nice 4K like 55” for the same price as a 32” 1080 TV just like 5 years ago … I mean you can walk into Walmart and get nice 32” TVs for like $120 or something wildly cheap compared to just a short time ago I love seeing tech like this come down in price cuz it means now anyone can afford a really good 4K massive Samsung TV for about $400-500 opposed to a short time ago where these things where 1000+ and out of most peoples price point Still a fun video as always and it’s neat to see how these knock of sellers and companies are dealing with the change in times and pricing. It’s funny when things get to a point where the “cheap” direct buy service is more expensive than even a good product from say Best Buy or Walmart 🤔

I think I got a decent shipping price when I ordered a 27" 2560x1440. Catleap monitor, not as big as a TV but still. At the time (2011) 2560x1440 monitors were still expensive and aimed at professionals, while in Korea they had started targeting gamers with lower quality b grade displays. It makes no sense nowadays to import a monitor from ebay, as opposed to getting one locally.

For me, IO is a major consideration. I still use analog divides still. That is why I do not get electronics from Wall Mart. Brightness does not mean that much nor color crispness as my eyesight does not differentiate between the 2. IO ports are most important and retro analog connectors are a must for me.
