There is a common scam going on with Ebay, Aliexpress, and any site that allows third party sellers. You buy something, and they provide you with someone else's tracking number and never send out the item. Which is why the tracking address information doesn't match the seller's nor the buyers. It happens to me several times a year. Luckily I've never had a problem with my credit card company refunding me the money.

Hey Y’all, Just wanted to clear up some confusion. First thing, I didn’t say Xiaomi was an obscure brand. They are everywhere and obviously I’ve heard of them. Secondly, I know I got scammed, the only reason I didn’t cancel the order the moment the guy asked for more money for shipping, was for the content. That shit is dodgy as hell. The only reason I reacted positively to the Xiaomi was because it was from a reputable brand. To be honest, I wasn’t even really expecting to get a TV at all. Hope this clears it up. !!! IMPORTANT: Do not change Sharpness from center (e.g. 50 if range is 0-100) with digital (discrete pixel) programming !!! It's often only for analog. Early LCD TVs used the analog circuits for HD CRT TVs (yes, they existed) and did not disable Sharpness in LCD sets, so moving Sharpness away from center in either direction blurred the picture using Analog methods. (one being the famous name I can't remember for adjusting the electron beams. It's some matrix-like math, I think, but in an analog way).

My experience with the 4k TCL has been kinda bad. The TV crashes frequently, and the HDR introduces some bizarre issues with 1080p signals, primarily a massive green/purple fullscreen glitch. Imagine running an ega game on a 43" TV with 4 colors. Green, purple, darker purple, and scalding red. Now imagine that at literal random, switching to any resolution other than 4k 60hz causes this glitch, regardless of source. It's frustrating. Don't get why some would bother ordering tvs from Ali-X when you can get similar build and quality chinese ( Hisense, TCL, Sansui, Toshiba, etc.) made ones on Amzn, and their returns are pretty flexible. The shipping can be quite high plus you might have to pay duty to boot.

Still using a 32" 1080p LG TV I got for my 21st back in 2012; it may only be 1080p 60Hz but it still looks great, has good viewing angles and decent sound, plus the input latency is pretty good in game mode

Hisense makes a great TV for really cheap, much better than TCL TVs. You can get a good 75" Hisense for like 700$. We use a Hisense for watching TV at night when using our camper. I will say that the brightness on the Hisense is a bit lacking on the cheaper models

I bought 32” Mi TV just a while ago. Mainly because of price (s$260 ~ 240cad ~ 190usd), perfect size for my use case, and “bezelless” design. My version booted up with English as default language and everything so far has been working nicely. I use the tv basically only for watching KZbin/prime video thus gaming capabilities were not concern. Sound is pretty crappy but soundbar with woofer was on shopping list before I even bought the tv. For my use case has been pretty perfect

Paying even the base price for a 1080p TV or monitor is about twice as much as it should be. After receiving several items that were complete trash, items that never arrived (had actual tracking numbers so Ali-Express's auto refund kicked in so I didn't lose any money) I had an item that actually arrived 3 months after the auto-refund happened. Half of the box was absolutely soaked in water (and had been soaking in it for some time) and the cardboard of the outer box and the item's box was little more than wet paper Mache and fell apart just touching it. The contents had mold starting to grow on them and some pieces were broken. This was several years ago and I pretty much closed out my account with Ali Express and have not ordered from them since.

For me, IO is a major consideration. I still use analog divides still. That is why I do not get electronics from Wall Mart. Brightness does not mean that much nor color crispness as my eyesight does not differentiate between the 2. IO ports are most important and retro analog connectors are a must for me.

This awesome video says so much about what's wrong with AliExpress. So much of the stuff on Amazon is complete garbage blatantly misrepresented, but that's mostly the extent of the scams. In this case, you got a higher quality product from AE than you could for the price at retail, and probably higher quality than you were expecting. But after paying the scam tax, it wasn't worth it. When I saw the title of this video, I thought, "why would anyone buy anything on AE that cost more than $20?" and I bet I'm not the only one. If AE realized this and could change that image, they'd probably destroy Amazon.

Honestly TVs have gotten so crazy cheap where you can buy a really nice 4K like 55” for the same price as a 32” 1080 TV just like 5 years ago … I mean you can walk into Walmart and get nice 32” TVs for like $120 or something wildly cheap compared to just a short time ago I love seeing tech like this come down in price cuz it means now anyone can afford a really good 4K massive Samsung TV for about $400-500 opposed to a short time ago where these things where 1000+ and out of most peoples price point Still a fun video as always and it’s neat to see how these knock of sellers and companies are dealing with the change in times and pricing. It’s funny when things get to a point where the “cheap” direct buy service is more expensive than even a good product from say Best Buy or Walmart 🤔

I only buy 43' 4K TVs because they're pretty goldilocks, not too big, not too small, and are easily found for $300 or less. They're on sale now for $200 or less. As a monitor, they're the same as 4 21" 1080p monitors without the bevel and any modern PC can make use of it with a single HDMI cable. What you really have to look out for is that not every brand works as a monitor. Some of them have pixel dithering which makes text on the screen unreadable. It looks fine for games and movies, but not when you're expecting to use all the pixel independently.

Seen this with America as well where prices don't include tax etc, and makes me glad that over in the UK whatever price you see is the price you pay as tax is always included. Scares me sometimes when you see the price of something in the USA, and then you find out how much tax needs to be paid on top of it. Thankfully, whenever I buy from the USA or Canada, prices always include taxes or are at least what you see is what you pay. Now postage these days, that is what makes it impossible to order much stuff worldwide. Our biggest annoyance though is import duty this end. While it is fine if it is under a certain price, as there are no charges, if it goes over the threshold it is hit or miss as to whether the HMRC will sting you or not. Firstly the price isn't just the item, it's the price of the item and the postage you paid (so yeah, very little is under the threshold these days due to said postage costs) added together, and you get taxed on that total not just the item price. And then for good measure they charge you a handling fee as well. I did not ask them to take my parcel, open it, see what is inside and then decided how much to extort from me, but yeah I also have to pay them to do that service I did not want.

As for the tax issue you can check and see what your State, city or county tax rate is. In State of Ohio last I checked it was around 7.25%. Do the math and you can see what you will pay for the item in your area. Yes it’s nice to have tax or vat included in your price but vat taxes tend to be ridiculous. The country in the EU I currently reside in vat is 24% on non edible items. 24% tax is very bad for an economy, people will not purchase many items at this rate, it appears that EU countries are trying to steal from their public to fund their politicians high lifestyles. Food tax is 13% which is stupid, taxing the food we eat?! WTF! In most states in the USA do not charge tax on food items. Sodas and alcoholic products will always have the tax added at check out. As a minister in a Baptist Church once told me when I informed him of the food tax in the EU, " It is a sin to tax the sustenance that goes into one’s body, those Bas$&*ds will burn in hell for it".

Or, for approximately the same price, you can get a 55" 4k, HDR TCL brand tv. Two years ago, the one I bought on Amazon was $329 USD. Looks great. No ghosting. Blinding bright scenes and the blacks in dark scenes looks like the TV is turned off.
