The biggest scam to date and the worst ending ever. But what an incredible van life trip it's been!
After trying to ship our vans out of Morocco to Spain we encountered one of the biggest scams we've ever been involved with. We can't believe we got scammed AGAIN!
We're now worried we wont see the vans cross the sea as we flew out mid-scam.
They have our keys to the vans to the safe (as they needed it for customs) who knows what they will look like when we pick them back up from Barcelona. everyone PRAY!
But on a happier note - we managed to pick up the three little doggos from Morocco Animal Aid to escort back to the UK for adoption 🐶 ❤️
🚍 Our bus stats:
2001 Mercedes Vario 814
4.2 Litre Diesel
Was 24 seats (now 2)
Air Suspension

Nothing I've been through can compare to the insane trip your brain can take during those panic attacks from the anxiety/ptsd.every time Amy suffers from anxiety on camera, I feel for her, but I'm also so proud of how Craig helps her through. I never suffered from anxiety/depression prior to my diagnosis, boy has it been a journey to learn to cope, but it will still poke its ugly head out when you least expect it. Wouldn't wish it on anyone

As a Moroccan I can confirm that all shipping companies are scammers. for example in the last few months the government forced us to pay custom taxes on every single product we buy outside from Morocco which isn't a big problem. but shipping companies took this opportunity to scam people by telling them that should pay 300$ for custom duties if they wanted their expensive products to be delivered while the real price is only 70$..for cheaper products they ask you to pay like 40$ for something that cost 10$ and which it's custom duties is barely 3$. of course they refuse to give any official invoices to justify these prices. So shipping companies are indeed scamers

@@Daniel-nt5gh I'm sorry that you had bad experiences but your use of the word "civilized" is inappropriate. There are bad and good people everywhere, as you acknowledge. Denouncing an entire country as uncivilized is, at best, ignorant, and, at worst, racist.

@@clairetheoret1108 English is not my mother tongue, I might have used a different world like "developed countries", was not my intention to offend but describe. But ignorant my comment was not, because I have been there, meet many many Moroccans. I have helped some, and I have been many hours at many Moroccans houses, even in shanties, drank so many teas and so on. I bet much more than most had. Even my uncle was born at Sahara, so... But it is a reality that being a tourist at Morocco will not be always a pleasant experience, that is the honest truth. On top of that Moroco is a dictatorship and in pandemic times you can not know what is going to happen with a solid legal base regarding visas or any kind of paperwork as these videos had proven. Saying that is a hard place to live and visit with no respect for human rights and with some people having medieval thinking about women, is not being racist it is being honest.

This is by NO means any reflection on Morocco or it’s people.. if you watch the full video you will see it clearly points out the ONE man responsible for the scam. We absolutely loved our time in Morocco and it's people and that certainly shows in all our posts and other videos. We had an unfortunate and very stressful time leaving Morocco but it was not a reflection of all Moroccans, just one person, it's important for us to highlight situations like this so it doesn't happen to anyone else ✌️ We LOVED our time in Morocco and would happily recommend visiting the country to everyone ❤️ We're STILL waiting for Custard the bus to land in Barcelona - apparently she'll arrive tomorrow - who thinks she'll make it? No doubt Amir is in on it with the scammer. They probably split it between them. How can he recommend the guy and then just wash his hands of it. Watching this brought back so many memories of times shit went really wrong when I was living abroad. Nothing is more frustrating, irritating, annoying and hopeless than dealing with a scammer who is likely giving a cut to the person you think is legit. I spent 1/2 a year living in Shanghai and to this day the only things I remember is all the awful things that happened. That feeling of being over been scammed on everything -- Once you hit that breaking point no turning back. I feel for you both. Sending all the good vibes and energy that Custard makes it safe to Spain and she isn't too damaged or ransacked. 🤗🤗🤗

I lived in Shanghai for over two years, and yes, there are scammers, downright thieves IMO, but generally I found my time there much like my overall 7-8 years in China. Plus two extended trips. I choose to fondly recall the positives and any difficulties were a lesson in patience. Not always easy but easier than hitting one’s head on a brick wall. I believe Craig and Aimee have enough smarts to know that despite the immediate frustration they will get things figured out. Also makes for great content!

You should've reported the guy to the Police. You would sign a report, it would have taken you 1 hour max, then they would bring in the scammer and you would get your money back right away. Plus if you press charges he would even spend at least a few days in jail. I was robbed there once at night, I saw where the robbers went, and I luckily found some police riders nearby, I told them about it, they followed the 2 robbers, and they got one of them. We went back to the police station, filled up a report in 30 minutes, then in the morning they called me, I went to the station, and they gave me my bag back, with all what's inside. The process there don't really go through court in such situations, they just bring the scammer to the station, take the money and give it back to you, it wouldn't have taken long, especially if you have proof (the footage). Unless you press charges

Myself & so many Brits experienced so much scamming from similar crooks for the last 20 years till the Law changed & went harder on them. If this couple went to Police, they will get their last penny on them. They have them on film, if they make a formal complain , they sent it to me & I ensure that police will get to them & get their money back !

I’m sorry for what you went through, but I’m mostly confused as to how on earth did you not read the so many signs and the sketchiness of these guys! The high level of unprofessionalism, the way they were breaking their own cars, the fact that they almost wrecked your car and so on! I’m amazed how you decided to still carry on with them after that!!! If it was me and this happened in front of me I’d halt everything right there and find of someone else to do it! But I’m guessing you might’ve been a bit desperate that you decided to chance and risk it! But personally I’d rather be stranded and delayed than be scammed out of 1400 euros!!!

Hello. Can I just say, as a very seasoned traveller, mostly traveling on my own with my kid, I completely understand Aimee’s anxiety. Traveling is THEE most stressful thing in the world, doing it with a small child is worse but it gets easier each time you do it. I think your very brave Aimee to document it if I’m honest and you should applaud yourself for being so open. What happened to you both being scammed, well that’s a truly awful thing to happen to you, you must feel a little violated by it? What I love though is that you have vlogged it and shared that experience because although you shown us the amazing experiences you’ve had it shows the true experience and the hazards that can be expected. I’m very sad for you both that this experience you’ve just gone through was quite the trauma but grateful that I now have that knowledge to be on guard for in future travels of my own. Thank you for your honesty. I hope that your next episode brings good news. Stay safe. X

The police probably do know what's going on, but don't know how to handle these situations, or these criminals. Culturally things, are so different for those of us born in different countries. You get the feeling that many of the Moroccans have learned they can benefit from abusing their tourists. Especially since the pandemic, which most people are suffering financially, so scamming has become their way to make a living. I believe this is not only happening in Morocco but in many other countries. I am not traveling, I live in Hawaii, in which I find myself weekly, where someone is trying to scam me, a friend or a family member. Being in lockdown, Covid pandemic has turned our world's upside down. It's become a war of survival, meaning financial survival. The situation they have found themselves in, being the victim, has the potential to effect them for years to come. My heart crys for them, the only thing I can do, is pray that all of this, will be resolved to a brighter future.

Great video! Thanks to the author of the channel for this fascinating video! It is interesting to see how people live in other countries! It is very important to know foreign languages on such trips. I would like to recommend to all travelers a practical guide to learning foreign languages by Yuriy Ivantsiv " Polyglot Notes. Practical tips for learning foreign languages". This book contains a lot of useful tips on how to learn a foreign language for tourists, students, entrepreneurs and anyone who needs a foreign language in life. There are a lot of good tips on how to solve problems with the language from beginner to advanced level of language learning. It turns out that the traveler only needs to know a few dialogues and you can easily travel around the world! You don't have to spend a lot of time to fully learn a foreign language, you just need to learn what you can use when you travel. I wish everyone exciting travels!
