I recently asked my dad if he's gotten any calls from people like this and he replied with "Well someone claimed I had an amazon charge of $200 but the moment I mentioned calling my bank they hung up on me..." and I was so thankful to hear that lol. Years ago I had gotten one on my email. I did not call the number they give you to call if you did not make the purchase. What I did was get the real AMAZON's number and they verified it was not charged to my account. So check with your bank or the store, where ever they say you purchased something you know you didn't and call the direct number to them, not the one they tell you to call.

Just got a call from Southern California Edison (I live in NorCal). He told me I owed $371.24 and if I didn’t pay by phone in the next 20 minutes, my power would be turned off, and it would take another $250 for reconnect fee. I told him I would gladly pay the whole thing. Including the $250. In 20 minutes. When my power went out. So he agreed to wait with me. While waiting, I started singing... IF you want my money AND you think I’m stupid, Go ahead and wait and see If you’re such an idiot JUST sit there and listen, You won’t ge a cent from me... He hung up. Guess he wasn’t a Rod Stewart fan...

The FBI handles scammers all the time. I started receiving emails from a scammer claiming to be with the Treasury Dept. So I forwarded it to the real FBI (you can get that info on their website). Within about six months I got a letter from them stating the guy had been arrested. They sent out hundreds of the same letter to anyone who had received his scam emails. The letter contained case number, the guys name, etc. I was able to verify all of it. My point is that the government does help with scammers, but they can only handle so much.

If our goverment had stricter laws on VoIP, the majority of these scams would disappear. I encourage you to contact your representative as well as educating others... and when you have the time, troll a scammer when they call. The time you take with them could just save a real victim.

Yah if only your government did something to get rid of the corruption and improve the economy instead of playing religion. Alas that's not gonna happen because an Indian brain is made of 80% religion and 20% hatred towards west n usa.

You guys are soo awesome! I love when scammers call me, I just act like a crazy person and keep their line tied up. I figure as long as I tie them up they can't scam someone. But you guys go after them and shut them down. Thats awesome!
