Fun Fact: International law automatically gives you copyright to your creations unless you waive them via a license or similar. So if the court decides that it is your creation and not the earlier guy, you could sue and win. Edit: and if that doesn't work you can sue for the fact that they have now put your life at risk by simply using the damn thing. Edit: friendly reminder: you're not a lawyer. This was a dumb idea, and so is whatever you're about to write.
@DrWhom3 жыл бұрын
Yes, that is true for the creations themselves but inventions = methods and procedures are a different matter. I think that by showing how its done he has established prior art. Neither of them are now in a position to file a patent and sue the other party.

As soon as something is published, it cannot be patented anymore. That means at least nobody can sue you for your own idea if you make it a product (at least not so easily). It also means other people can make a product based on your idea. Tip: If you just need proof that you made something at a specific point in time, you can get a cryptographic timestamp for the description. These timestamps are free, they are used by Windows as proof that a kernel driver was signed at a certain time. A signed driver with an expired signature can thus still be considered valid, the cryptographic timestamp documents that it was signed when the signature was valid. (The signatures of the timestamps themselves are usually long-lived.)
