⚠️⚠️ CORRECTION ⚠️⚠️ Gas struts should be installed with the piston rod pointing down. This orientation ensures that the main seal is properly lubricated with the oil inside the strut. The oil also provides damping, which slows the piston's speed near the end of its stroke to protect the hinges of the object being lifted. Mounting the strut rod up can reduce the life of the strut and put extra strain on the hinges. I did it backwards in this video but have since corrected my mistake.

Yeah you're pretty amazing very inventive era MacGyver I just bought a 2024 Scamp like you have in hope you don't mind but I'm going to copy what you're doing and I want to thank you you have been amazing and you have a beautiful dog I have a 190 lb Rottweiler and he's kind of used to the tight spaces so hopefully he'll be able to fit in front of the refrigerator LOL

Do you think the 100N gas strut that you recommended is too strong? I have looked at some other videos and they recommend a 20N or 40N. Thoughts? Thank you.

They definitely seem like overkill but they don't seem too strong for the hinges I have. So far they are working out splendidly.
