This was so wonderful to watch! We have a 1985 13 ft fiberglass Burro. But with winter here in NH, I’ve been having camping withdrawals. So this helped a lot ❤️ and I really like the style of your videos, they’re very relaxed and don’t seemed forced which is a bit freeing to see on KZbin. Keep it up!

Great idea about having full hookups on the last day to flush out tanks and clean/reset everything! Thanks for sharing your budget; it was helpful. What a wonderful adventure! :)
@LetNewAdventuresBegin4 жыл бұрын
It really helps to get things all cleaned out, especially if the camper is going to sit for a while after the trip is over. Budget is important- it is what makes trips like this possible. Thanks for watching Angela!

I have one of those Rhino Blasters for my small trailer, which didn't come with a black tank flush hookup. It does a great job of flushing the tank out. My trailer came with one of those blue hoses with clamps, but I've never used it. I prefer the Rhino Extreme sewer hose, as it's much easier to hook up, and if you step on it, it'll spring right back. I'm also a firm believer in separate color-coded hoses for fresh and waste water. Blue or white for fresh water and orange or black for waste water. I also store them in separate containers. I know some people use the same hose for everything and that's not only gross, but unsanitary.
@LetNewAdventuresBegin4 жыл бұрын
so many little tricks to learn with RV's, but yes different containers and hoses are a must! and gloves because the connections are not always the best

One thing I've learned while dumping, is to shake the camper. Gets things shaken up. Can't use one of those flushers because I have a right angle drain.

do you shake the camper by pushing on it?

I think it is helpful for people looking to get an RV to see what a trip could cost. We could have saved money by going out to eat less, but we also really enjoy eating at some local places when we are exploring- like getting pie in West Virginia!
@richardhouvener64234 жыл бұрын
I've never camped where they had sewer hookups at the sites, but I have not run into people who are impatient behind me at dump stations either. That said, I expect it's going to get me some day...

we usually dont do full hook ups, but it is really nice to take your time and flush the tanks well- especially at the end of a trip 👍

Excellent 9 day trip. What memories. That was smart to do your shopping before you got home. I doubt think I would of thought of that. That was a beautiful camp ground you stayed at. The Starlight I believe it was. What did that cost you? If you don't mind me asking. Glad you guys are feeling better. Looking forward to your next video. You are getting good at this take care, stay healthy and be safe.

Thanks Beach Bum, it was a great trip! we have learned from past trips that coming back home with no food is rough because neither of us feel like going food shopping & then getting ready for work- so this worked out well! The Starlite was under $50 for the night & had such a great view!

we are looking at getting a 16 foot scamp or casita in the summer of 2021 and have a 2012 forester that is rated to tow 2400 pounds max and appears to be about the same size as your Jeep...does your suv do a good job at towing the scamp you have and not feel overburdened? it looks really fun to get out and RV, really looking forward to it, heading out west, colorado, utah, southwest etc......I enjoy your channel. cheers from Kansas City
@LetNewAdventuresBegin4 жыл бұрын
it handles the Scamp pretty well- I think we would have gone for a vehicle with a tow package if we knew we were getting the Scamp (just for less overall wear & tear on the vehicle) but the Scamp was a bit of a surprise purchase & it works well for us, Thanks for watching & good luck with your search for a camper!
@AlaskaErik4 жыл бұрын
@@LetNewAdventuresBegin When I bought my 2016 Chevy Silverado I didn't have towing in mind. After I got my trailer a year and a half later, I realized that it just didn't have the oomph that I needed for pulling long hills, so I got a 2019 Chevy Silverado with the 6.2L engine, 10 speed transmission and the Max Trailering package. It makes towing so much easier and nicer! The 220 amp alternator does a much better job of keeping the trailer battery charged and the enhanced cooling system keeps everything much cooler, which prolongs engine and transmission life.

"Patrick's parents house" I was wondering how you could afford to board Redford because it is so expensive for not-so-much. Now I see that parents come through.
@LetNewAdventuresBegin4 жыл бұрын
when Redford was younger and not as well behaved we did board him at a farm when we traveled (with several other dogs to keep him busy), but that is expensive, so now that he is better with his manners we let him stay with the grandparents

Good afternoon. Was just curious about your power hookup for the Scamp. You were using an extension cord for the power. Didn't it have a long thick black power cord inside the port for electricity? Cheers from Colorado
@LetNewAdventuresBegin4 жыл бұрын
the last owner switched the scamp to a 120 line so it could be plugged into a regular outlet. It just makes it easier to hook it up at home & we can get away with the lower power since we don't have an air conditioner and we usually run the fridge on electric.

We were a little late getting this last video out- we were both sick for a couple weeks (stupid winter!) I was waiting until I was slightly less stuffy to do all the voice overs!
