This video really helped!!! Mental note: Listen to the video once right before doing the battery replacement. I listened to it plenty of times before I got the nerve to finally order a battery kit. Then I followed along while replacing it, forgetting all the small stuff I had watched a few weeks prior (I almost blew away my screws with the blow dryer!). I didn't order the kit in here because I didn't find it right away on amazon. This kit had a few more tools than the one I received. Mine was missing the black pry tool and the tweezers. If you're worried about removing the screen, trust me... it's worth it! And it's not as hard as it sounds in your head. There is a slight click when putting the strips back. The only sound I can compare it to is baby snaps on newborn clothes. Very very light click.

Just replaced my battery successfully. I appreciate getting all the tools and supplies needed in an affordable, professional package that arrived quickly with detailed printed and video instructions and support from a responsive seller. I skipped removing the screen and just held the phone open below 90 degrees. I agree with previous comment to pull the tape straight down towards the home button instead of trying to work it around the corner and apply the tape to the battery first. Also, my new adhesive strips would not come off the blue backing. I messed up all the strips provided but I managed to get an inch or so of tape on the phone to stick the battery down. I noticed putting the screen back down the battery presses up a little, but no issues with performance and I keep it in a tough case so hopefully it won't become too much of an issue. We'll see how the battery performs.

Extremely helpful video. Follow these instructions and take your time and you should be setup for success. It took me about 40 minutes, but about 8 of those minutes were spent trying to get the screws back in after I was "complete". Two additional tips I would give: 1) Think about your hand positioning. Don't block your light source and don't make it overly difficult where your hand is bumping the front assembly when you're trying to unscrew the cover plate. 2) Pull straight with the tabs towards the bottom (charge port) of the phone instead of going around the sides. If you pull at a low angle, with constant but light pressure you might get lucky like I did and have both strips come off without ripping. Good luck!

I watched several videos to replace the battery and this one is the best overall. All videos insisted that you remove the screen. This one gave me the knowledge to remove the battery and replace it (successfully) without removing the five connectors attached to the screen. I used several books to ensure the screen did not tilt more than 60 degrees. It is somewhat tricky but with patience is not overly difficult. Appreciated, thanks.

Perfect. Thank you man. Very helpful. Took me about 45 minutes. Would have been about 30 minutes, this was because once I reattached the front screen I must've not clicked one of the bands into place all the way. Once I tested turning it on, the screen was all whacked out. So I went back in, reconnected all the bands and it worked perfectly. Great walk through. And I agree, tearing the adhesive to the side is easier regardless of what the other commenters are saying.

Just changed my daughters phone battery! Her phone wouldn't charge and was told it needed a new 'motherboard' at a cost of £150 at a phone shop in Queensway W2. Was a bit sceptical and took a chance with a new battery from Amazon. Battery was a bit difficult to remove and had to use a flat head screwdriver to really pop the thing out. Anyway phone works perfectly and it only cost me £15! Brilliant video and really pleased with myself!!

Just completed my battery replacement using the ScandiTech kit and this video is very helpful. However, I found the instructions for putting on the new adhesive strips to be incorrect. After peeling off the blue film, the strips should be placed on the back of the new battery, then folded up around the top at the bottom of the battery. Then the red film can be removed and the battery placed into the phone. Doing it the way the video shows places the little adhesive strips that are meant to hold the tabs down on the top on the wrong side.

Hi Scandi Tech! First of all, i want to thank you so much!!! Your battery is very high quality, cheap and the tools u guys provide makes the job super easy! Even the caveman can do it. :) Now my iPhone can hold about 9 days in standby mode and when i play games or watch HD movies, it can hold up to 17 hours... ;) My old battery was 3 years old and had about 750 charging cycles and the phone was shutting down when it reaches about 25 - 30%, which was driving me nuts! At best it can hold about 5 - 7 hours on high use and about 3 days on the standby. Yeah i know not bad for the 3 year old battery, but i know how to charge my batteries, that's why they last a long time... :) Anyways i order your "Battery kit" with all the tools included and it took me about 25 - 30 minutes to replace the battery. The glue on the battery was super easy to remove, because what i did is pull the tape a little bit and then use my hair dryer to heat up the glue a little more and little by little, both tapes came off very easy and the battery just popped out, No force necessary. I did remove the screen, becuse it makes the job much easier and u don't have to worry damaging any connections that goes to the screen. Me as the computer administrator, that fixes all kinds of computer and the cell phones. Highly recommend this seller and his products. Good job and keep up the good work! ;) Cheers

One of the best and most detailed steps for replacing a battery in an iPhone 6 I have seen. The warning to replace the screws in EXACTLY the same place they were removed from is very important. The screws vary in length but the differences are so slight you might not notice it, put a long screw in where a short screw is required and a good circuit board can be turned into non-repairable junk. Attention to detail is very important.

Great video, guys. However, in my case the glue tabs broke off at the very start, and I think my leverage and use of hairdryer must have affected something, as my phone as that ghosting, and it doesn’t respond to the finger control. But why does Apple have to glue the battery in place, where Samsung doesn’t? Back to my old Samsung then!

Great kit. Video was instructive, but has you incorrectly place the sticky strips on the phone, not the battery. It then says, "...it might not stick, that's ok." It doesn't stick because it is upside down! I found that out too late. Also, the screen gasket is completely ignored. Had to watch some other vids to find out what to do there, then go back, take it all apart again and put that on. Wish I had watched some other videos as well beforehand!

Had to really heat back of phone up and pry battery up bending old battery. Can't understand why such strong adhesive. As stated in video, keep screws separated and away from work area because hair dryer will blow them and you will spend more time looking for them . I had no problem. Excellent video.

Hi there, The process can get really troublesome because of the adhesives. When the adhesives break, try to soften it first by applying heat before prying the battery out. It can be much easier if the adhesive is softened. And yes, the screws are tiny and can be easily lost. It can also be blown by our own breath or any gust of wind. Which is why it is recommended to secure the screws as these are also sized differently. Overall, I'm glad to know that the replacement was a success. Cheers!

Hi there, Sorry to hear about the incident. I think the phone can still be repaired. It is possible that one or two of the flex cables may have gotten loose from the fall. This is a helpful video but I think that the adhesive strips should be placed on the battery so when the adhesive is folded over, it sticks to the battery like the original strips were installed.

I just bought your replacement battery and will be tackling this very soon. Just curious why in your video demo the replacement battery is an apple battery and not one of yours. You had one in the kit at the beginning, why not use it for the replacement video?

Hello Jim, Thank you for your comment. We sometimes use props or old batteries in our videos. You see, our batteries are not stored in the same office we make our videos, hence we do not have direct access to our own inventory. It's a bit silly, I know. In some cases we've also make our videos prior to officially launching our battery kits. This means we haven't had our own batteries ready when putting the video online. Regards, ScandiTech

I thought this video was incredibly helpful and allowed me to successfully change my battery here in a country where none are available even if I wanted to pay someone to do it. However, I would like to add a small comment. When I got to the point of sticking down the tape I erred with the correct side up. This is almost a non-issue but the ":grab tabs" at the end of the tape weren't correct and there was a small amount of "sticky" facing up, not down which would allow for the tabs to lay down and stick to the battery. It worked any way but I thought it was worth mentioning.

The battery works great. The tools are really nice and worked very well. Great product! However, the only issue I had was the new battery connector was not bent exactly as it needs to be to fit in properly and I had to figure out how to bend it so it would fit. Once I figured it out it was not a problem but there was nothing in the instruction about this. Anyone who does want to change their iPhone battery them self should note that getting the old battery out is not easy since it is glued in and unless you have decent mechanical skills you might ruin your phone. If you are under the impression that this is as easy as popping out the old battery and popping in a new one you may want to take you phone to the Apple store and pay for the battery replacement.

Hello Jon, I'm happy to hear that you managed to replace your battery. I see. In most cases, the battery does arrive with its connector in the right angle. However, during shipping and warehouse handling the battery tend to move about in the package and because of this, the connector might now always have that perfect 90 degree angle. Either way, I'm glad you figured it out on your own. You are absolutely correct. The battery replacement is not a risk free process. We try to warn about this wherever it's appropriate. We also recommend all potential customers to read and watch our guide before considering taking on a project like this. 95% of our customers manage to replace their batteries without any issues, but as you said, this is not for everyone. Regards, ScandiTech

I just have a question, do we really need to put the sticky strips or not? Can the battery be in place and still work? Thank you in advance.
@ScandiTech4 жыл бұрын
Hi Joel, Yes definitely. Technically the battery can still work without the strips. The strips are there to hold down the battery. If the battery keeps moving inside the phone, the battery connector might get damaged.

One of the connectors is broken (not attached to the inside cover anymore). Can that be fixed? Thanks.

After replace the battery can I still using the same firmware/phone without any data remove as before? Or do I need to reformat/clean install ?

Hello Nero, A battery replacement will not affect your software in any way, if done correctly. That means the phone will have all your apps, images and messages saved when you boot up the phone are the replacement. The whole process is pretty much like rebooting your phone. Regards, ScandiTech

Superb and highly informative video. No background noise, distracting graphics or unnecessary adlibbing. Just straight to the point from A to Z, and it worked perfectly for me. If there was one thing I would add is to use plastic tweezers or pry tools when trying to remove the old battery. Usually on the battery there's a warning about the risk of explosion if the battery is accidentally pierced, especially by a metallic tool. I also wore safety goggles for removing the battery just as an extra precaution. You don't have to wear goggles if you don't want to. But there is always a risk when poking around trying to remove something as potentially dangerous as this. Thanks so much

The heating part is really something that could be avoided, I guess? I've just completed the replacement of iPhone 8 battery and I just pulled the tabs and then used a credit card to lift it up. Worked fine. I assume that iPhone 6 battery replacement process was not much more complex, but that's just a guess.

There are instances where the battery adhesives are just stuck in there. Loosening it really helps.

@@ScandiTech Got it. I still like heating is not always a good suggestion here. It might help or it might damage stuff

Thank you so much for your video! there was a scaring second there when the adhesive decided to bunch together in places but i was done with this (i was getting very frustated) so i put the strips in anyways and it seemed to work fine

I installed the new battery without those ultra sticky tape strips. No need for those anyway, the battery fits snug on it's own. Plus, the old phones years ago didn't have the batteries taped in, there is no need.
