Making a garden / compost trommel from old bike wheels and wire mesh. I will be using this for the removal of rocks and other debris from my garden as the main use. Then after that it will be used as a compost sifter.

This is what we say pure criativity... Give a second live, whith recicling materials for stay with low cost. Is amazing the way that you build this trommel. My best wishes and congratulations for your work.

Hi Scaman79 Just a suggestion . Would it have been easier to use a rivet gun, as you have your holes already around the wheel with a sizable washer on the underside ?

Сколько мороки! Помните, у нас были железные кровати? Так взять сетку от этой кровати (или сделать подобное) и поставить ее наклонно - к любому забору, дереву. И просеивайте землю.

Harbor Freight sells casters that might work. They look like the kinds used on rollerblades. All that video and we didn't get to see it in action? Grr...

I'm going to use some of those HF casters in my build. I'll include a video of it working when I finally get to that part of the build. here is a link If you would like to follow along with my build. kzbin.info/aero/PLo0Dj3_xr78NRP77DA9clNJKa2gj_9WgU

You should have used those "Razor" scooter wheels.
@ScanMan797 жыл бұрын
Mike Welch Yeah those might have worked well.
@mikewelch39037 жыл бұрын
ScanMan79 , those razors are a tremendous resource. You can get the wheels, either hard plastic or even pneumatic, strong 12v motors and the electronic throttles, gears, chain and batteries.

@stapeley1003 жыл бұрын
By the time you have constructed this , you will have lost a growing season . A mesh on a slanted frame does the job as well. Easy to make ,easy to move . Not criticizing your construction . But keep things simple , its worked for years .
@ScanMan793 жыл бұрын
We can't grow year round here. You do these kind of projects in the off season when timing isn't critical. Yes, overall simple is best but not always the most efficient.
@mattuk13107 жыл бұрын
seems like a lot of work.....i'm guessing you ahve lots of soild to sift thru ? Have you gotten too or posted part 3 yet ? this one looks a bit like yours kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZ6Yf5R-h82JfJI
@aceshigh2353 жыл бұрын
You need roller blade wheels...
@ScanMan793 жыл бұрын
I considered those but since they are a solid mount it wouldn't allow for the basket to have any play or waviness in the rims. With the swivel casters the whole basket can move a little over an inch in either direction length wise and have no issues with binding, derailing or excessive wear on the wheels themselves. Thanks for watching.

@@fnafgaming7632 Possibly, I don't have any experience with Roblox to be able to offer any suggestions. It does however sound like it might be a collision issue, but that's pure speculation on my part. I wish I had a computer that could handle Roblox, it looks really neat. I'd like to try it out someday.
