Scaphoid fracture recovery: 5 weeks after surgery

Thank you so much for documenting your journey! This injury just happened to me 6 weeks ago. Didn’t know it was broken, could still move and bend no pain. Just slight pain when doing push ups. An x-ray and CT at 5 weeks confirmed displaced scaphoid fracture at the waist and now I need open fixation internal reduction surgery with autograft. Extremely nervous for the long road ahead especially because I’m not in pain right now, so feel like I’m back tracking. Thank you for sharing your experience!

I am having a very similar recovery 4.5 weeks only brace, no surgery. Same stiffness. (I don’t want arthritis.)

Exact same injury as me by the sounds of things. Scaphoid break, ligament stuff and dislocated lunate (i think?). Docs also warned me of arthritis risks. Hope I progress similarly fast.

Got the same fracture, 8 weeks after surgery (1 screw, no pins). Can't drive, tie shoes, still have a big swelling and my mobility is almost zero and not improving for a month. This is very frustrating. And i have been seeing a physiotherapist for 5 weeks

My scaphoid was broken for 8 years . Had surgery 3/15 and had a check up yesterday. Shows healing and finally got cast off . In a brace now for four weeks . Let’s gooo . The surgery is the best option for missed diagnosis
