I was the EA test lead for this game way bitd and we had a blast on it! The area control and the slow-moving robots really made it feel different than the usual FPS shooters at the time.

No way! I loved this as a kid. This is the one game I wish someone would make a remake/spiritual successor. I believe it can be successful today imagining a modernized version even in eSports who knows

It was an awesome game and what got me to play it non stop was the ranking system. At the time my Pentium 90 wasn't quite top of the line so I turned off both graphics and sound. And then I went ahead and took everyone down. Played for a good 4 years. Representing SGG :-)

It's really nostalgic to see scarab recording. I'm playing with my friend while i'm controling the movement and my friend control the shooting, because my tiny finger cannot reach the button

Stargate + Mechwarrior ... I was fascinated then and I still remember.

What a bizarre game. It's like a mix between Mechwarrior, a point-and-click adventure, and Quake. The setting is very unique in a way that only old games were - fighting robots in ancient Egypt.

@Josh Wallace Totally. I know back in the day there was a glut of "alien invasion" themed games (that's why Doom went with Demons instead), but there was still a lot of creativity. A lot of old PC games have such weird mechanics by modern standards that they are a bit too intimidating to learn for me, which is why I end up watching videos of them instead. 1999-2010 seemed like nothing but WWII and military FPS games, so these older games are refreshing to see.

Lol this hurt me to watch. You didn't drop any towers, request any weapons or control the map with your towers... or even destroy the enemies towers! Lol I know it's probably your first time playing the game. It's one of my favorites since childhood, I stiil bust it out from time to time.

Hey ansharzero, yes, you've got me there 🙈. I played this game for the first time and admittedly I didn't even know it until then. But through this channel I'm discovering so many games I've never heard of before and I hope others will too. That's the reason for this channel. But I understand that it pains you to see me play it. I would probably feel the same way if someone played one of my favourite games in such a "soulless" way. I still hope you had some fun with the video ✌😉

It's like a time portal into the past, vague childhood memories of watching my dad play. How did you get such a good recording of it in 2018? Is there a way to download and play it still? I found one download link but it had no sound or video which really felt like it was missing something.

Hello Tam Anon, i know this feeling that you describe very well because of the time travel. Well, I'm not sure anymore whether I played a virtual machine here or played it on win7. Download versions can also be a RIP with sound parts missing. But could also be due to the system.

@Ss-fn3oe I use different emulators with different operating systems. I also use an original system from time to time. Which one I used here exactly, I can't tell you anymore.

Fyi, JR, also created an attempt at 2nd version of this game called Cyber Strike 2, not sure it ever caught on and I personally haven't even played it much after investing 4 years into this game. SGG-Leo.
