After he was betrayed he took the name of Kunikuzushi, and thats how Ei and Miko refered to him, thats the name they got before The balladeer/Scaramouche, so its that... Ei didnt forget, is just that she never heard of Kunikuzushi, she thinks he stills sleeping or wandering arround...

Ei remembers making a puppet before shogun but she just doesn't remember it's name and it's whereabouts. Her line abt him was removed because after scaramouche removed his existence, it's like the betrayal never happened and since he got that name after the betrayal which never happened in her memories, he is like a nameless puppet. There is a possibility that she thinks he's still in slumber or something.
