Not many the figures reduce each year. 5 mech boxes have just closed on Teesside. There are still areas on secondary routes in Scotland Yorkshire Cumbria and elsewhere where they will survive a few years more due to Network Rail budget constraints. ROC signalling cover for the entire country is predicted by 2030 but it could take longer.
