As someone has already commented. America wasn't discovered until 1492 and even before that with the Vikings it was around the year 1000. Corn, was brought to Europeby Christopher Columbus( originally from Mexico.) but it didn't thrive. There is NO way it was growing in fields in the year this film is set. Such a monumental oversight !! They obviously did no research, and did even less choosing the actors, who are dreadful. So is the script. .
