Thanks for this Ashok. I have heard no less than the much celebrated and highly qualified doctor - Dr. B.M. Hegde - claiming that gluten in wheat is harmful for diabetic patients and doctors who ask a diabetic to switch from polished rice to wheat / roti / chapati are actually keeping one diabetic. This myth had to be busted. The other two myths were easy to call out, though it's also a myth/common advise by many on youtube to peal the skin of almonds after soaking them overnight as the peal is hard to digest for many people. Donno how much truth there is in this one. The milk one by Smt Maneka Gandhi almost had me fall off my chair laughing (ROFL ?). That was the easiest to call out.

@@krishi.0 Yes, millets are much better than cereals like rice n wheat. Wish Govt encouraged cultivation of various varieties of millets instead of rice or wheat (with assured MSP) to make them both accessible and affordable for the masses. Millets are a healthier option for everyone, not just diabetics / those with metabolic disorders. Likewise, cold-pressed oil in preferable to refined oil (again, hard to source for most folks, esp in smaller cities/towns). Vegetarians like me have ltd options as protein source, so low-fat cow milk is a primary source. Daily exercise is a different challenge altogether :-)

You considered every aspect before making your point unlike others who started to build around set point. @@krishashokstones are mostly calcium oxalates. When we eat to much of oxalate containing food there is chance of stone formation. That's we can balance this with enough calcium intake which will prevent stone formation. Ps: palak paneer is not that paneer will stop iron absorption obtained from palak. But its good recipe to cutout the oxalates of palak by adding paneer. Paneer and palak both are good sources of calcium 😊

1:04 My cousin is one of the rare few with Celiac. She's also lactose intolerant and consuming meat or eggs strains her intestines. It is straining for her to find food that isn't contaminated with gluten. She's lucky she's Indian as most of her meals is rice, dal and veggies. But she can't eat so many snacks we take for granted. I had to help her out by creating recipes with rice and millets. When these influencers online say remove wheat and gluten from your diet, do they know how many foods they are removing from a region's menu? Some with incredible cultural significance? Avoiding wheat means no chole batura, pani puri, samosa, kachori, holige, gujiya, soan papdi etc. No lactose means you might as well throw away 90% of the sweets made across India. Because of one of these influencers, my mom believed that people could recover from cancer by drinking carrot juice everyday. She carried this false notion in her for five years, irrespective of what any one else in the family said. It wasn't until my aunt (her sister) had to go for chemo that she comprehended how devastating cancer is as a disease. Sharing false information isn't just bad, it could prove fatal.
