In the Netherlands we had a well known high end criminal, a weapons trader, which is highly illegal here. He was called "Pistolen Paul" (Pistol Paul) and was known to love animals. He had no problem to shoot one who abuse animals and done so several times. Sadly, he passed away many years ago. If you approach him to buy a gun to shoot one who abused your animal, you got it for free.

It's better to find out by putting him into treatment for anything that could have made this worse before jumping the gun and imprisoning him or giving the death penalty. To those of you saying, he just needs help lets help him bla bla. I have a degree in psychology and I'm afraid there is no help for psychopaths, no therapy, no meds, unlike mental disorders. These people are callous, lack remorse, impulsive, have grandiose ideas about themselves, manipulative, the list goes on. When he said he was excited by it it gave me chills. This boy may very well grow up to kill people, alot of serial killers have the triage as kids/teens of 1) wetting the bed, 2) arson 3) torturing/killing animals. He is 15, not 5, he has a conscience, this is NOT mental illness that can be helped, IMO. In my opinion, this is psychopathy. I am the sort that does look at both sides in most cases, but in this case, I don't think there is one. Guarantee you if he's not locked up he will kill a human in due course.

It doesn't mean that it's impossible to treat, but first, if someone truly has this disorder, the person needs to want to change at some point in the therapy which means they need to have an understanding what they're feeling/doing is wrong (and not just by a societal standpoint). Another thing to consider is that most who do go to get treatment have already been caught doing a crime. Even though some sociopaths, psychopaths, those with antisocial disorder tendencies.. do go to seek treatment on their own, it's rare. Psychotherapy has dabbled in the treatment with those with personality disorders (including borderline personality disorder and narcissism), which typically develop due to a variety of causes not limited to upbringing and at times underdeveloped or even damaged portions of the brain. I think it's important for professionals to try and find ways to treat people like this, however, it's also important to understand that most likely these people will not change. This kid is young, so there's a chance as his brain is still developing, and given some treatment that could help him slowly view the world around him differently... you never know. But he got away with what he did with little consequence. Despite this interview turning out to be with an imposter, if the boy doesn't understand why people were so upset beyond just a surface understanding of people like kittens and that it's actually about the senseless killing of something.. it doesn't look good
