In 1913 Cecile Chaminade was the first female composer to be awarded the Légion d'Honneur. She wrote Pas des écharpes (Scarf Dance)in 1888 as part of Callirhoë, Op.37, a suite of pieces for ballet. It is an airy piece full of French charm, played here by Nancy Litten.
