I feel bad for Manny, he was the one who supported Tony and became his greatest friend from Cuba to America. He was the one who helped him achieved the "american dream." In my opinion, it wasn't Gina, it wasn't Elvira, who played the greatest role in Tony's life.. But it was Manny. Although these two women were Tony's inspirations. When he shot Manny, I knew the movie's ending would be tragic. :'( I wish the movie's ending ended differently. But I guess life is not always about happy endings. :'(

Gina's story is so sad. I think she represented innocence to Tony. He was after one thing, power, and he killed for it. That ate away at him which is why he was so dissatisfied with his life even after he had become rich. That's why Tony loved Gina so much. She was his blood but she was innocent, in a way representing that their was some good in Montana's name. He couldn't bear the thought of that innocence being corrupted like he was. But in the end he had corrupted her by killing Manny, causing her to try to kill him and get shot by one of the assassins. That's brilliant symbolism on the director's part because shortly after Gina dies, Tony dies having lost the one good, innocent thing in his life. Tragic.

While he may be fictional, he represents the true evil that exists within all of us. it could be argued that Tony is both the protagonist and the antagonist in Scarface. Tony loved his sister dearly, her being the only pure thing in his life. That’s why he was so protective of her, to preserve her innocence in a way. But he failed to realize that by having her even just dapple in his lifestyle through the money, it _would_ ultimately corrupt her. Their mother said that she didn’t want Gina to even come near his life. And towards the end she tells Tony that he destroys everything he touches. Right after that, he shoots and kills his best friend, which then eventually leads to Gina being gunned down. The symbology in this film is tragic but beautiful. It’s really like a modern Shakespearean narrative.
