DOTT was such a fun game! I've purchased and played throughout the years most of lucasarts adventure games and every one of them is fantastic. I'm not convinced it's worth paying full price for these remakes, but I snapped up a few of them in some of the bundles and will definitely do so again. The humour is spot-on -- Laverne even has a message for you about what happens to boys and girls who try microwaving hamsters in real life -- and it's just fun from beginning to end, seldom do you hit a real roadblock.

I played lots of adventure games in my time and the design of puzzles in Day of the Tentacle is a work of genius it is way above even other Lucas Arts titles.

You should review Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis! As far as I'm concerned it's one of the best LucasArts games.

+CosmicTeacup It's one of those things I'll definitely get around to, but yeah, I love Fate of Atlantis. It was actually one of the first adventure games I ever beat and I loved every second of it. I also really liked the Last Crusade adventure game but that one is incredibly brutal.

+Scarfulhu I kind of wish Fate of Alantis was similarly brutal in terms of getting through without dying. I love the combat system but sprawling Atlantis would have been much more interesting if the wondering Nazis weren't pushovers - _yet I could never outmatch the one guarding Sophia, had to take the (yawn) wit approach._ Maybe last crusade is a better game, hard too say - I messed up my saved character on the road out of Germany, couldn't get passed, then lost those saves, then next time I figure out a way to keep my health up through castle Brunwald, and I forgot how to bullshit them. :) But I remember respecting the challenge. I must try it again.

According to the reviewer Ikifoo kzbin.info/www/bejne/kHPclImDotd0qZI, you can still use keyboard shortcuts to use any verb you want, or scroll through them with the mouse wheel. Actually, I'm not sure but I think he says you can access the verbs the old way within the remastered graphics. I was pretty pleased with the sound of them options.

Fun fact: they added an option to this game to let you switch to the old sound effects, after a bunch of fans (me included, heheh) lamented the fact that the new SFX were often much less cartoony and iconic as the old ones.

Scarfulhu, i don't know if i should buy Grim Fandango remastered i could buy it for like less than 3$ I'm into point and click games and i never beaten one yet because i got too bored of the story or there's a puzzle i can't solve on my own and i hear a lot of good things about this game but i decided to ask you.

+M7MAD520 Essentially, the worst part of the game Grim Fandango is the...game part. In the remaster, you don't have to deal with a lot of the awkwardness (tank controls, no text cues as to what you can interact with, etc.). However, even with the improvements, the puzzles--oh GOODNESS the puzzles. They aren't horrible...but a lot of them are closer to moon-logic than they should be or are just drawn out enough to be frustrating. Here's the question: is it worth it? YES. 100%. Absolutely. Do it. Why? Because the characters and the story are PURE MAGIC. When you play this game, the weirdness of the insane world--the vehicles, landscapes, monsters, demon beavers (yes, DEMON BEAVERS)-- NONE of that will be enough to keep you from believing these characters are real. That the choices they make do real things in the world. That good will triumph over evil, even when the cost is dear. That true love can find you even in death. THAT is why you should play this game. Use a walkthrough and just DO it. You will never be so grateful to have flowers ruined.

Not sure if you know this, since you never showed or mentioned it, but I'm gonna mention i anyway. You don't have to go to the Chrono John everytime you send an item. It's enough to just click the item then click the one you want to send it to. You don't even have to go pick it up either. Also, love seeing the increase in videos.

I wouldn't mind giving a potential Sam and Max remake a try. I've played the original several years ago and, for some reason, that is the only game I've played that made me kinda ill. I don't know why. It's not the art style,it's just, I don't know, maybe the colors or something.

+MahNoseIsMelting Yeah, they do. But I don't think it would make it harder. If Double Fine really wanted to do it they'd probably get the license to easily. I mean Telltale are no stranger to partnering with other companies, let's be honest here. It's practically all they do.

+Geno Eh, I think the animation here is serviceable. At least, compared to the Monkey Island remakes, which honestly look pretty awful. I don't know if that's popular opinion or not, there's this awful disconnect between the sprite animations and the background animations for the MI Special Editions. I always switch back to classic mode whenever I play either of them.

lucas arts, my favorite lucas game, indiana jones never had sound effects, but indi stories were really good. and then a year later, lucas started to put very good sound effects on their games like days of tentable and sam and max, but.... i didnt like the cartoonish games much. i liked only indiana jones and monkey islands
