You should create a Boulder on the whole wall from left to right with a couple of cruxxes and rests inbetween, would be awesome to see the process of finding ways to safe energy etc and of course how they'd manage it differently. Edit: All of the crewmembers could participate to create one boulder each being part of the whole thing with each top being a proper rest. Start with maybe some harder stuff, go for a dyno and in the end, more of slab stuff

I would love to see this. It’d be a nightmare to get the gym space for it, but even if it was a build up and tear down it would be awesome. I’d watch a 1 hr video of the process. I promise it’s worth the editing time haha
@spreadpeace31083 жыл бұрын
@@stanfordschroder1980 Maybe it could be possible to link them in a way, that you have a few seperate boulders. Hence you could just let them on the wall for the visitors.

My local gym had a route like that a few months back. They slowly added it over the course of a month when they'd reset different sections & each section got gradually more difficult. I could never finish it but it was really cool to see a route like that!

They even taped a "finish" hold on each section so if you got so far you knew completed a certain grade

Why do you always screw the holds on? At the gym I go to they bolt them on to the wall and also screw them to stop them spinning. Doesn’t it help the walls last longer if the holds are bolted instead of using more screws?
@driklol3 жыл бұрын
Those panels are all replaceable should they need to do it, and plywood is pretty damn durable...You'd need to drill sooooo many holes to end up with a spot weak enough to be unsafe. Screwing the holds in gives them a lot more freedom on where they're actually placed to achieve the desired difficulty vs following a "grid" of pre drilled holes. They do (you can see him utilize bolts when needed ) still use the bolt holes in a lot of cases still, If I had to guess the majority of the "lower" grades are bolted in. I also think a lot of what we're privy to seeing is being done with a very specific idea of what he wants in mind, probably easier from a creative perspective to not be limited by only using bolt ons. Then a factor that they may have in mind, but is probably less likely to be the answer is the noise , an impact drill putting in bolts during business hours would impact other climbers more than putting in screws...but again this may not be a thing he's even thinking about.
