Must be something simple, i had a similar experience. I remember going down a hill into some woods as a kid with my cousins, when we notice a little cabin. Any reasonable person wouldve respected that person's privacy and property, but we were young; so we ended up entering the cabin. As we go through a tall fence, we see a small courtyard with hanging dolls leading to a shrine made entirely by shoes. We got out of there scared by the idea we all probably have right now, but after giving our side of the story, the keeper of the area told us that as much as the crazy woman owning that house looked like a witch, she was just a harmless but crazy old lady that collected and sometimes reused trash.
