Dan, can I make a technical suggestion? Your camera is set to AWB (Auto White Balance), so everytime you take a close look at the grass, it wants to balance, and either reduces the green/yellow, or turns the blue and magenta levels up to compensate, which I think doesn't make the grass look as good. It's also less consistent video to video. Since you mostly work during daytime, setting White Balance to 5500k (Kelvin scale) or Daylight might be better. Love the videos regardless. =)

I think it would yes in terms of coverage but theres some areas which are bear and always have been do just want to imcorporate some new seed see what we can do alongside existing grasses
@MrMattrowland Жыл бұрын
Yeah that’s the issue I have. Will the rise and shine not interfere too much with the seed as it’s low in nitrogen? So good to apply now to get the lawn going after moss removal but not enough to mess new seed up. It’s mad how much I’ve learnt of you in a couple of years. I work on border design and renovation but it’s given me so much confidence from the videos I’ve taken on a 700sm lawn this season to see what I can do.

Dan, thanks for these videos. Got stuck in last year on a mission to sort my lawn, and made good progress in some part thanks to your vids. Question about mowing and scarifying at this time of year: Should I be worried about frost coming after I scarify?

@DanielHibbertLawnExpert Жыл бұрын
You would need a fepa licence which is a theory and practical course so you can spray weedkillers etc, but its very hard business to get into unless you are mowing aswell you need 1000s of customers if just feeding as you may not go back for 3 months if its your standard 4 treatments a year programme

Hey Dan, loving the videos, quick question, is there a way to know whether to completely kill off your lawn to start again with new seed (for example a fair bit of amg) verses persevering with what you have (scarifying / over seeding ) etc etc ? What’s your gauge for knowing when you’re flogging a dead horse ?

Thank you Daniel as always, apologies, like already asked? Would it be ok to follow this IF I didn’t intend to over-seed come April? I certainly will for the back lawn ( buy just not keen to do the front lawn until I’ve done the back ) I’ve got some fellow gardeners on the front of house but just incase anything goes wrong. I won’t have to hide my head in shame😅 once I’m happy with the back , I can do the front then 😁

@roger4880 Жыл бұрын
Probably a mix of seaweed, iron and black strap molasses and maybe a lose dose of nitrogen. Very cheap and easy to make. When you hear "I'm putting carbs on my lawn" it means a form of sugar, molasses is the go to for most pre made bio carb products. The green up generally comes from Nitrogen, Magnesium and Iron. Nitrogen is readily available Magnesium from Epsom Salts Iron from Iron/Ferrous Sulphate All of the above available very cheaply if you are willing to buy individually. Read up on how much to use per square meter, plenty of articles online describing this. Or if you don't want to make it up the ICL liquid range is excellent.
