the reverb/delay on his riffs make this version quite a gem here....no memory gives me such great memories

agreed, its astonishingly beautiful. i must download this version as it is truly special.. its superior to the remade later version. magical and it became a shadow of its former self. no doubt record company decision.

Not heard this version . I like the more prominent bass, with it's solid root-note style and the more ethereal riff. An unusual 1980s song deserving of more recognition, I think.

It was an amazing song when it burst into the charts in 1987. I used to love it and it still sounds great. A pop record that means business and not a spare second wasted. Shame they did not have more success.

I only came across it due to hearing an extended version on a Balearic playlist! I've heard 3 versions of it and all have been excellent. A wonderful track.

Great song and video! Should have been a big hit back in the day. I prefer this rock guitar and synths version than the pop produced version that was released as a single.

Thank you for this clip Rosa! I recorded this on a video tape in Spring of 1987, (my senior year of high school). Fell in love with the band, video, song. I lost the video tape years ago and was so upset with myself. You made my whole year by bringing this to KZbin! I have some great clips of the Tube show from England I need to post them on KZbin.

Scott, this could be me writing this comment! I was obsessed with Swansway and then SF. Amazingly I was later friends with Rick in the early 90s as he ran a brilliant 70s funk & disco night in Birmingham, and he made me a copy of this, as my original Tube video wasn’t the song in full. It was treasured! Made the mistake of lending it out 😔 So very very happy to find this tonight! I never dreamt anyone would still have it! Thanks Rosa! 💕

Great song, really great and her voice is amazing. It's criminal that folk with talent like this do not get the dues they deserve, and in this era talentless robots are multi millionaires.

well on a positive note, we have all the good stuf we can still enjoy, and there is still lots of older stuff from past decades ripe for discovery. I suppose its all relationed to dumbing down. Creative people are frightened to overestep the mark as they will be dropped. If i think of my favouritei groups, banshees, roxy music etc they would get nowhere now, the door is shut to anything leftfiel, yet in 1972 and 1982 that stuff could make top ten
