We have been asking for integration and we have finally got it. The time gating of eidolons, the insane grind of Dog Days, RJ (though thankfully not much), the rewards from raids/eidolons, 0 explanation of what is happening as per and a new mechanic that is launched in a totally different form than we have been shown/promised before, as with all recent additions (not to mention bugs, bugs and more bugs, cos we all expect that by now). DE have managed to bring all of these into one event. Then you only get the weapon BPs and they need f**kin RJ mats to craft. Get shafted by our Scarlet Spear guys.

both the Oplink and RJ is working the way they were teased, but in a alpha state in terms of content. e.g. in RJ they showed Lich and corpus capital ship sabotage but we only got extermination with no actually free roam. Oplink we got the chance to share progress and help other squads but currently Oplink is stuck in Scarlet Spear so you can only use it there instead of help players in space while you are in the plains or orb vallis. Very much rushed contents.

There were numerous synch bugs (and some still persist) regarding the connection between both groups, like the Railjack team not receiving codes despite people on Earth giving them. Imagine the disaster if it were something more complex.

It's a real shame. The second dream had me thinking that coherent plot was possible, but since then, I just feel like its a taken a backseat for DE. What happens if you do that, then are forced are return to the story? Well, you get what Ruk is saying in this event. I don't think they even really cared about the story for this event from the get go... I want to hope for something more, but ah, I dunno anymore man. This just plain fucking sucks.

My main issue is the matchmaking, breaking up the playerbase into individual flotilla groups make finding people to group up with very annoying instead of automatic. Soloing the event isn't exactly a great experience.

I just bought Iceborne myself. Played the original at launch and it was great, but the expansion is incredible. I'll be well over 1000hr on my main character by the time I complete everything in MHW, and that's just on my hammer/heavy bowgun character. Just switching to dual blades or insect glaive changes it up enough to warrant another fresh character. Capcom is killing it with that title

I quit a long time ago, but I think I've lost that hope as well. I couldn't say when exactly I did quit, but it was some time after they "fixed" the Oxium farm. I logged back in for Melee 3.0 to get my free Legendary Core which has yet to be used. I also logged back in for the anniversary armor. The only time I logged in and actually played at all was with the recent rebalances to fuck around with my friend in the Simulacrum. Worth noting that while I found these changes neat and I'd finally messed with Melee 3.0 a bit and found it interesting I did not feel any urge to actually go out and do missions with these changes. I had a lot more fun secretly turning on Friendly Fire and blowing my friend up while I have invicibility on. Only for him to wipe the smug off my face by learning he can infinitely backstab me and there's nothing I can do about it. Seeing how much damage he can make Hysteria record was also great. Octavia was the winner by several exponents btw. The Nyx Space Program was also a lot of fun.

This video is old, but its largely a shitty take. If you do ground, you can complete it in 22 minutes if youre good. Being generous, you can do two runs of it an hour. You get 8k for that alone, and then if the murexes are defeated, you get 18k. Almost enough for a r5 common arcane. In an hour. He is claiming that running prime junk is faster, but it is nowhere NEAR faster lmfao. If you were to play excavation for an hour, lets sayyyyyy 3 minutes a relic, thats 20 prime junk. If you sell prime junk to people at 3p each, thats 60 fucking plat. There is no way that is faster than doing this event, its a joke

Why are the sentients even attacking earth? earth is not even a strategic planet to attack since is mostly desserted and doesnt have the resources to be valuable. @@chavaz06 you're right. Lore-wise, every faction (grineer, corpus, infested(?), solarians, cetans, syndicates) should be flipping their shit right now with the emergence of this new-old threat. It would be interesting to see how the different syndicates react, too, now that you've mentioned Steel Meridian and New Loka. But the sentients attacking Earth kinda makes sense because they reeeeeeaaalllyyyy wanna get to that Tower of Unum down at Cetus. It was their goal before Gara falcon punched that sentient ship before it became Eidolons, it's their goal now, too (why they arrived in the plains based on the trailer) because the Tower of Unum can somehow get rid of their allergic reactions to Void Energy. Just doesn't make sense why they landed on the jungle tileset instead of the Plains. Imagine this: they land on the Plains, we fight, get overwhelmed, and we make an uneasy truce with the Grineer. They fight with us because they can see that Steel Meridian and the converted Liches got our backs already so they decide, fuck it, let's do this.

From people testing it seems like ground squad kill codes are banked and then passed out, in order, based on EVERY space squad currently running, not just the ones in your flotilla. This leads to rare issues where you can send your own kill code to yourself if you run a ground mission when there's a lot of activity then switch over to space and the backlog starts to clear out letting it reach your banked kill code. An exceedingly stupid system but seems about right for DE since they couldn't even think of the easy way to "cheat" like the timed health loss system used on Formorians that most people expected them to use here.

There is no need to protect the ship if your ship is somewhat tanky. There is a place to hide the railjack where it mostly doesn't get shot at all, on the opposite side of murex entrance. If it gets boarded, you can clean up later. It actually only takes 6.67 Squads to get 5k points in space to reach 100.

This whole scoring "system" is so convoluted and confusing, and to top it off you can never tell what is a bug and is a feature. It is almost as if they are done specifically to be confusing so you never really know how to do it to maximize the payout for your effort, then pour a cup of RNG on murex quota, few teaspoon of "you gotta sign you life to a single flotilla" with a dash of "gotta meet quota in 3 hrs chop chop". It is like a rebate form for the case of motor oil you got and the entire form is filled with unnecessary steps specifically to make sure don't get the rebate.

Just as a side note, you don't need to defend your railjack. Sentient boarders don't deal damage to the railjack they just disable portions of it until you shoot them off. So all 4 rush in to the op link, afk with limbo, and when you get back to the ship the crew shoots the sentient disabling the engines and you just go get the satellite and repeat the process. I've never had to defend my ship in any of the runs I've done

I like the design behind small time gates as opposed to non-stop grinding. It's like dailies (sorties/syndicates), but with a smaller time window. It also makes easier to find eidolon hunting parties even after the content isn't considered "new" because people start looking for hunting parties at the same time. The lich system and orb vallis spider bosses in comparison do not use time gating and/or are spread across multiple nodes, leading to many empty missions. Dividing players into smaller pools is not necessary with a limited-time operation since it just makes parties harder to find even though everyone is actively playing the missions. Some logic behind this event in particular is just a bit flawed on top of the system being broken.

As a MR28 with 2000+ hours played on ps4, I pretty much only play warframe for a month or two every year now for the last couple. All new 'content' that comes out that gives mastery is often overly grindy and buggy on release that I don't even find myself attempting the content on release, but instead wait a few months until DE typically makes it a little less grindy or fixes some of the bugs. I just did railjack for the first time this last weekend due to double affinity, and with my own doubler getting 4x affinity and using ivara backstab cheese, I was able to get a decent amount of intrinsics. Every new update is so grindy, I find myself waiting for a cheese to be able to progress just a little bit faster because of how fucking long everything takes to do in this game. Every new update requires you to farm something specific, needs new materials to craft, or is just plain bad mechanics. DE needs to get their shit together, or I'm going to just stop coming back altogether.

DE seems to have adopted the "engagement" philosophy of live service games. They plan grind to increase engagement. However they underestimate frustration. I am a veteran rank 27 player who casually drops in and out and I used to buy plat with offered discounts once per 3-4 months to skip grind for new prime parts. The state of game now offers me no reason to go back. I remember the horrible kora grind where I spent 30+ hours due to shoddy RNG and I do not want to participate in anything close to that. Warframe is a game, not a job

Yep. Arcane guardian, for example, has 15% chance if you kill the Gary but 11% if you capture it. And it should take about 10 min per attempt IF you have a dedicated build or squad. But doing the event will allow you to get one(or more, if you get the wave reward) every 30 min if you do the Railjack mission with a full squad. You may argue that you get other arcanes as well, but if you are only interested in a specific one then the event is probably better.

I've been in a holding pattern of keeping an eye on what's releasing with warframe since the sacrifice came out, and only dropping in when i see something that seems worth playing. Most updates have got me playing warframe for a bit but I have to say scarlet spear is the first one I've just gotten what i want from the update (the basmu and the murex hologram) and now I'm taking my break again. Literally 2 logins this time, where before an update would get me in for a week. It's the same thing with every update, DE have big ideas that wind up bugged and disappointing. I WANT to enjoy warframe like I used to. I WANT to play it as much as I want to but with how things are I just don't see the point.

Maybe it would have went better if they set it up as rooms (for the whole 100 limit) but all the kill codes are shared among all the rooms. Also, they could have it keep sending codes to the Railjack missions and if the room goes over 100, it just puts the codes aside for the next set of Railjack missions or transfers the extra kills to the lower rooms. If a certain percentage of the rooms overall get filled to the max before the reset, all players gets an even bigger bonus since we all (well those farming the event) came together? E.G. Rooms 1-4 all hit 100/100 while room 5 is at 20/100 and room 6 is at 10/100. There were a few in 1-4 grinding more missions which put those rooms at 140 extra total, which would trickle down so rooms 1-5 at 100/100 before reset and room 6 at 70/100 before factoring in the grinding done in those rooms. With all the grinding being done, over 80% of the rooms get filled so when the reset happens, everyone gets the bonus plus an extra 40% on top. Finally, maybe instead of it being tied directly to the room in general, it could be player based where your account gets the credit for the successful missions and the points (which the game could mark if you contributed to a room and which sides you did) follow you till the reset. E.G. You ran 5 ground and 4 Rail missions in room 1 putting them up to 100/100. Game says you did 9 mission in total (while giving you the proper amount of rewards) so even though you jump into room 3 to assist them to reach 100, you will still get the points and extra points for helping out room 1 reach 100.

One thing they should try and add is doing a vault of glass type of thing from destiny 1. What I mean by that is to make it interesting people are teleported and randomly chosen from the ship to the ground, it would provide both a chance at communicating a bit and defending would be challenging. As for rewards, just freaking change them.

Instead of the kill codes being a vital component to finishing the space mission, make it where they act as a boost to the rate of 'hacking' the Murex. Like the efficiency stimuli in Sanctuary Onslaught. Not required, but a nice bonus that helps keep things moving along. Hell make the codes grant bonus points for both teams when codes are sent and used, resulting in better farm efficiency. If a ground team does all the waves, the sent code can be a greatly enhanced bonus to make the time spent getting it worthwhile.

Aside from all the common bugs that people mention (i.e. no kill codes upload) but also sometimes the satellite will instantly blow up as soon as you grab it. Or sometimes, you'll get a black screen entering the murax, forcing you to abort the mission. And another bug I've encountered is that you'll start the RJ mission but there are no mission objectives forcing another restart, it's a less severe bug since it's right at the beginning but still very annoying when you have to re-invite everyone into the squad. Oh that's another thing about this event. It's a pain to re-invite people back because sometimes the flotilla is "full" and you can't re-invite people. This is THE buggiest mess I've ever played. Not even hyperbole. There might be worse experiences for other people for other games, but for me, THIS was the worst buggy experiences I've had with an online game.

The Dark Split-Sword is another great choice for a Stance forma if you want to use both forms since there are NO stance mods between Dual Swords and Heavy Blades that share a polarity. Would have been great if it could swap between stances with alt fire, although that would require it's own unique UI in the Arsenal to equip 2 stances at once (obviously only 1 gives capacity at a time).

I have had fun with the event, my only real bad experience was yesterday when it took like 10 minutes to get a code. It seems that if there are multiple squads on Space, the code sending is completely random and prioritize certain squads among others. All complains are valid. But I think a lot of people is being unfair with DE. Like it or not, for the last updates they have stated that they would need players to help them out to polish the content as it gets released. And their reponsonse and hotfixes have been quick, not to mention the recent rework to enemy scaling and status.

It does not detract from your argument because your point that players should be rewarded for their time investment for playing both sides is still a valid one. ---- The choice for a single side reward is a deliberate choice referred in the Hotfix 27.3.3 notes: “Victory Payout is calculated by your Best Higher Total Score between Ground or Space multiplied by 2 (capped at 10,000)”. This is just another manufactured gate. 12:10 - The best acquisition method for arcanes will always be plat. - Trading >>> Scarlet Spear w/ bonus payout > Eidolons = Scarlet Spear (normal grind) in terms of time investment. - Given 4.5 hours, Scarlet credits is way better than hunting eidolons for uncommon arcanes. You can get at most 2 nights (100 minutes) to fight eidolons in that same time frame. - Scarlet spear is entirely reliant on getting that bonus payout otherwise you are better off fighting eidolons. I say this because if you can do Tridolons, you probably have the gear to get the bonus payout with minimal effort. - All this being said, Brozime is right. If you really need those arcanes, buy them with plat. - I would wait for Energize to be added to the event shop so the price to dips a bit before you buy them for plat. Squadlink: - In general, squadlink will detract from the game. At best, you will have to wait for the other players. At worst, you will have this system that will break completely at random times and progression completely halts. The integration between other systems and players will slow down gameplay. - The best way to implement squadlink is a passive interaction rather than active. The active implementation we have currently will bottleneck the missions. If missions can continue as normal but speed up or unlock side paths because of other players, the passive implementation will be better received. - The issue is that if the max rewards is still tied to squadlink, the bonuses become the norm. Then getting the “normal” progression is then the negative reinforcement. You know that you could get better rewards if someone did squadlink; and when you don’t you will feel worse than no squadlink at all. So that means squadlink rewards can’t be that much greater than normal, but then most people will not do them because the effort is too much for so little. - The best possible outcome from squadlink though is that it could potentially work in asynchronous raid type missions that playerbase can do. DE will have to get creative, but it can be done. Scarlet Spear: - The event really is the rich getting richer - Information makes the even so much easier. The disparity from ignorance to base knowledge of the event is 15000 event credits to 2000. What may take someone 2 hours can take another 24 hours to reach the same progression. That’s about 22 hours difference of play time. - The gating once again hurt the casual player more than the info brokers that live this game. A block of text in the middle of the room that players may or may not find is just not good enough. I ask, what is DE to gain from this by keeping players in the dark because it’s just not fair. - I can forgive the bugs, but the design choices are the most egregious because they are deliberate. If they want to put diminishing returns, this is not the way to implement it. This is not the way you should be treating your playerbase. I do agree with Brozime mostly and am not trying to shoot down his points with straw man arguments. But... I felt the need to properly define the progression of the event with the respect to the rest of the game. The progression is not so bad in context to the rest of the game, but still pretty bad.

I played it a bit, gave up real quick because I was on the ground, friend was up in space, same scarlet spear, he's saying he ain't getting kill codes even though I had just sent one, when we went back to that scarlet spear, turns out NO ONE was getting kill codes at all at that time in that instance. So I just stopped, haven't really played it beyond that.
