I don't why people are saying she can't sing... Yes she can. Just because she doesn't sound like a stereotypical pop singer doesn't mean she can't sing. What sort of voice did you expect? It's sultry and deep, just like her speaking voice has always been. I do singing lessons and do classical music because that's what suits my soprano voice.

SavingPrivateBob you are absorbed in her looks and what you know about her as an actress. She is a beautiful person, from what I can see, a decent human being from what I know. I just think to say she has one of the "best" voices ever, is an exaggeration. Her voice is nice, she has a smokey soulful sound, but she doesn't have a great voice comparatively. Of course this is all up to opinion, but her range isn't great. She is kinda flat. It's cool she's perusing other outlets but damn she is not one of the best. Scarlett is a consummate artist. Her childlike flair here is amazing! I think she has what MOST actors don't: The ability to be comfortable taking on any character. From madness, to child-likeness, to a super hero. If you haven't, check out the movie Under The Skin. It's not your typical piece of work. Its a dark and very "minimal" film. But it is brilliant.

I remember hearing 9IN Hurt, then hearing Johnny Cash also sing it, same with Rusty Cage. Those songs evoke different emotions depending on who sings them.
