ByuN is massively overrated today. Basically all Pro SC2 Terran players micro like he does nowadays. It has more or less become standard. So what is it with all hype surrounding this player?

@@bobby4twit's the same feeling like your favourite deceased artist/singer if you have one. They left a legacy, like elvis presley with his "can't stop falling in love", so many artists can sing it better than him now, but some people will say that elvis' version is the best. That's what byun is in terran lover, maru, cure, clem, ty, gumiho and many others are have amazing micro, macro, build and better than byun, but what he did in 2016 gsl, and basically old days, left us with immense admiration for him😊

I knew Byun was gonna win that last game when he dropped 12 MULES in the Center base at 57 Minute MARK. Zerg 6K ahead disappeared in 1 minute.

I dont think Scarlett has ever really been know for a strong late game. She really needs to work on it from a strategy POV. I feel like Dark would have done litterally anything and mixed it up multiple times during the match. I could easily see Dark spreading creep, pushing spores, queens, vipers, lurkers, if he wanted to fight head on. He would have looked for nydus back stabs, and he could easily have made 4-6 swarm host with the nydus to keep attacking from different angles. Brood/infestor could easily be an option for him as well. Even some Muta harass would have been nice to see in any of those games. Worst case, with 8 muta, you can kill medivac drops. The point is that Dark will throw everything and the kitchen sink at turtle terrans like this. I never really see Scarlett play in that way. She is like a bull that keeps on charging in and trying to smash head on. A few times she really had Byun low enough that instant ling remax could have broken him, but she was always just to slow to remax after a big wave.

If they harass her, like they do against others. She’d be a 10-15 mins game. Gotta give her a chance. She’s slow for Macro fights.

Watching the boys go against Scarlett. They hold back and enjoy a defensive game. I don’t see this against other boys. (Macro)

its always hilarious to me when you talk about mining their side of the map and then they just don't do it. the workers are more exposed but as you say you can steal their resources. I do it when I can in half map games but the pros just never risk it.

OK we've exchanged words about this before so I will try to be as fair to Scarlett as I can. But a complete noob like me should not have a better strategic sense for the game than a pro like Scarlett. But Scarlett simply does not seem to be able to read the game situation very well. Now, we could argue she doesn't have 10 orbital command centers scanning the map giving her instant scouting, but she should have been able to assess those games better, especially given that Byun is no doubt a frequent practice partner. You argue that Neo Humanity is bad for Zerg, but I would argue that it is a good map for brood lords. You use the many twisting corridors to come over obstacles and abuse the massive range advantage of the Brood Lords, much like Byun abused tank positions to great effect. The 3rd game on Royal Blood also had many abusable areas where brood lords would have dominated. Instead, Scarlett decided she would shove ling bane. And if you want to use that flood style you must keep up with your injects so you can remax quickly. I don't think Scarlett did that well enough. There were also several moments in the game when Scarlett looked indecisive; if she had a better killer instinct she could punish a Terran with timing attacks. In your casts I have seen Dark, Reynor, and Serral all do this with great success, so it's not about the race matchup. It's about the player. If she really was adamant about not using brood lords, she should have massed vipers and rotated them. Abduct individual tanks over kills squads of hydra / lurker. The solution to a turtling Terran is exactly what you said: take forward bases and try to mine them out. Finally, when you have so much minerals but your army remax requires a lot of gas, and you have 5000 minerals in the bank, you should be slowly massing spines and spores. They don't take army supply, the spores provide detection against ghosts, and it provides interdiction zones where Byun would hesitate to engage. Staking out territory with static defenses can interfere with raids meant to draw attention away. The pros used to do this better (to great effect into late game) but for some reason some of them have gone away from this style. I can't remember what series it was, but I watched one of your casts recently a protoss player was making 3 cannons and a shield battery in nearly every base and it made him practically immune to ling run-bys. It's money well spent, and those cannons can't even uproot and move around like zerg defenses can. Aside from one, ONE series where Scarlett did well in a team match, I have not seen you cast a Scarlett series where I thought, "Oh wow, Scarlett belongs among the top pros." She is slow to react, slow to adapt, and her scouting isn't as good as it needs to be. She also draws the wrong conclusions from games, like "Brood Lords bad." Brood lords are only bad if you don't know how to use them. Scarlett shows clear aversion to certain weapons in the Zerg arsenal; shouldn't a pro know how to use all the tools available? Yet, as yourself pointed out in your cast, it seems Scarlett has mental hang-ups where she avoids certain units and tactics because she thinks they don't work. She needs to get rid of these and practice using them better or else she is going to remain predictable and inflexible.

This is why Scarlett is a B listed pro player. She just can’t seem to break into A. It’s those small attention to details. I think her biggest issue is she doesn’t scout. She plays blind and he second issue is her late game micro and strategy. But on a positive note her early game has improved

he doesn't actually have any wrist issues when playing online cups like this. It's somehow nerves related as when he's on camera it flames up, otherwise he claims to feel no pain when he's just playing from home
