I actually played in the tournament just for fun, I was looking at the results afterwards and was pleasantly shocked to see trigger took the whole thing without dropping a single map. I hope he wins EWC to be honest, he earned a new fan. I saw him at dreamhack Dallas but didn't get a chance to talk to him, kinda regret that now haha.

lol... internet was not much different than real life for me, except 007 goldeneye on n64. i was a god at that game in town, like, there's a spot in temple you can stand with a grenades launcher and hold down most of the spawns with only like 10 feet of movement. the last 2 stay pinned in by fire. i spent hours practicing the bounce shots alone. ended up disallowed to use most guns, or take the high ground or spawn control points. defiantly no explosives allowed for me :P internet, i was still often top tier and promoted to guild leader, won solo fights against top tier guilds in some games.

Might be just me but it seems like making a base outside those golden minerals in game 2 never seem worth it. You open yourself to an easy attack without an easy way to defend yourself. Getting reinforcements seems hard to do. Almost seems like it is designed to be bait. Could be worth it if the other person doesn't scout, but it seems like its always worth scouting.

I know what I'm about to say. Will be controversial, but I think ghost snipe ability should either be nerved or have a longer cool down. It would allow zerg to do a lot better against Terran. than I think void rays should get a 1 to 2 damage boost buff. To make a more viable for using against opponents.

Yeah I don't really play but the ghosts seem pretty busted. I think it being a hard counter to a unit like the Ultralisk is fine, but it seems like they essentially delete any late game zerg unit without any issue. I like seeing the Ultralisk out but I know they are generally useless. Bad enough their pathing is wonky, let alone being hard countered by a single unit. Maybe it would be less of an issue if they were more maneuverable. The EMP grenade is fine, but if they had an attack animation to show it went off. I think more people would be complaining about the unit much more.

Steady Targeting is not a cooldown ability, its energy based. Increasing its energy cost from 50 to 75 is a colossal change that would likely break the game. Its easier to adjust balance by just nerfing the ability's damage. Protoss certainly doesn't need a buff right now and Void Rays especially become easily broken in the early game when buffed, they tried that already.

@@hivetech4903 going to assume the total amount of energy a unit can hold is 100. So why not start with something like 55 and maybe brining it up to 60 cost? Idea is to prevent the use of them being used back to back, no idea if this is how they are actually used. Seems like when the unit is used on a mass scale, don't think they are cloaked because the other units will take the damage instead. Nerfing the damage would also probably work as well, as well as being simple.

@@kosmosXcannon The maximum energy that energy-bearing units can hold is 200. It takes an eternity in SC2 time to gain that kind of energy. Thanks to relatively recent patches, a ghost's snipe will get cancelled if the ghost takes damage while channeling. The original Snipe ability had no cast time and cost half as much energy, allowing a ghost to rattle off 8 of them at once, though it did a lot less damage. The traditional Zerg counter to the Ghost is banelings and zerglings. They're cheap and fast to produce, have greater sustained dps per cost, especially in the late game with the Adrenal Glands upgrade, and they are accessible far earlier than Ghosts are. Even with numerous full-energy ghosts, lings can out-swarm ghosts' killing power. That is of course not accounting for things like medivac pickups. One Zerg counter-ghost strategy developed by Serral is to use an infestor to Neural Parasite (mind control) a ghost in a group of ghosts and use that ghost's EMP Round on itself to drain all the energy from the ghosts. It's not easy to pull off, of course, since that infestor tends to die quickly. Like Lowko says "It's simple: just play like Serral!"
