God I understand it now. In last episode of amazing digital circus for a second Kinger was also acting normal, because he had a bucket or somehing like that on his head, and with that he was in darkness

This episode made my cry fairly hard during Kingers dialogue with Pomni. I'm usually not one to cry during animated shows, but the messages in Digital Circus hit really close to home as a depressed adult. It's kinda like watching a reflection of inner turmoil & it being put in words.

Kinger's been through some stuff. You don't learn the kinds of lessons about life and yourself that Kinger brought up otherwise. That alone had me relating to Kinger so much more than I already did this episode...right down to "Seven years of computer science for this."

rewatch the Zooble therapy scene: every time Caine goes on some crazy non-sequitur or ignores what Zooble is saying, it's *immediately* after they say 'nevermind' or 'forget it'. He's literally just following Zooble's orders. He's an AI who accepts inputs without an understanding for context or emotion.

I loved Kinger so much in this episode. Also with Zooble being non -binary the way they talked about their discomfort for their body felt very "body dysphoria" coded. Anyone else got that vibe?

There's a pair of socks in the merch store covered with the the abstracted eyeballs called the "Checkmates Socks". This, combined with the dev saying Jax will do something horrible, hhs led some to believe that Jax will make Kinger abstract

My leading theory is that since the pillow fort (like the Tardis it seems to be) is a physical place for calm and remembrance for Kinger since his last true memory is of Queenie in that fort, Jax destroying the fort feels like exactly the one thing that can kick Kinger off the mental edge.

I think Kinger will figure it our and thats what will set him off. Its something he does cause hes bored. Or maybe He will set it off in kinger and as he's abstracting, Kinger will flash back to Jax doing something to Queenie and focus his rage

This explains why Kinger likes to be in the pillow fort, he's returning to a sane state. Also, last episode when Kinger is consoling Ragatha on the caravan, and she comments "I'm surprised you remember that", he has a bucket on his head.

I just watched this myself a few hours ago, so I'll just go ahead and share the notes I took at the time and add onto them as we go: - Jax's teasing aside, I feel like his insistence on getting Pomni to overcome her own human survival instincts and test the limits of her digital body is his way of being _helpful._ We've seen before that there's layers to him, after all. - Caine, being his usual chaotic self. - Somehow it doesn't surprise me that Pomni has an aversion to horror. She's pretty nervous by default. - On the one hand, Caine *_is_*_ trying_ to provide psychological and emotional support to his charges. On the other hand, _he's _*_really bad at it,_* because he was never _programmed_ to need to do that. -- If I had to guess, Gooseworx herself made the assets. She's the one who designed the animatronics at Loo-Loo Land for Vivienne Medrano's _Helluva Boss,_ after all -- freaky shit is her _specialty._ - Locked doors and audio logs. Yep, we're in a horror game, all right. - Sean Chiplock sounds like he was having a _blast_ with this episode. - So, we've already had depression and existential crises in previous episodes -- now we can add _body dysmorphia_ to the list! Fun for the whole [HONK!]in' family! - Kinger's unexpected badassery kinda makes sense, even outside of its narrative necessity. He's usually so completely dissociated from his reality that he's at minimal risk of Abstraction, but it seems like, in the moments when his _perception_ of that reality is _limited,_ he becomes more _lucid._ His pillow fort, the inside of that bucket, a dark cellar with only two things to focus on... the less he has to think about, the clearer his thoughts become, it seems! - Seems like the folks who speculated that Kinger used to be a systems engineer might've been right. "Seven years of computer science" is the biggest piece of backstory he's given us so far (though the line about his wife, the queen piece from one of the doors in Episode 1, is a close second). - Called it, didn't I? Darkness helps him remain lucid -- and there's a sweet, affectionate lad under it all. -- I feel like the darkness being a pacifying influence on Abstracted people might parallel certain kinds of neurodivergence. Being on the autism spectrum, I've often found bright, noisy environments overwhelming and overstimulating, and that's with just _two_ eyes -- with as many eyes as Abstracted people have, the Circus is likely completely overloading them... though the Cellar, being pitch-black, might help them regain some degree of lucidity. I feel like we might see that later. - I've got no idea how long this series is planned to run for, but I hope we get to spend a good long time with this crew. It's honestly good for _my_ messed-up emotional state seeing Pomni work through _hers,_ and I'm sure I'm not the _only_ one who feels that way!

Yeees I totally agree with the Kinger science thing! My theory is they all designed Caine and put themselves in that reality on purpose. Putting the headsets on made them lose their memories and gave them new ones, like some being in the circus longer than others. Caine is probably the AI they designed that went AWOL.

Something I picked up was Kinger made the same suggestion about holding your breath even when he wasn't all there. In the beginning when Pomni said she can't hold her breath that long longer said "Try not thinking about it" Then it came full circle in the end with same suggestion saving them.

Before reaction: Just watched the ep on my own, looking forward to seeing your reaction. I really liked this one. :D. TIMESTAMPS: 2:51 I think that the way his limbs are shaped and the way he stretches he would deflate like a ballon animal. Or inflate. Even when I’m watching people play horror games instead of playing them myself I also tend to get jumpy. One kind of horror I’ll never play is phycological horror. It,s so scary D: imagine if you were in your house, getting ready for bed. Such a peaceful starry night. Slowly drifting to sleep as your count fluffy sheep jumping over a freshly painted fence of the color baby blue. As you wake up the next morning, you go into the living room as you watch your favorite TV show as you eat a bowl of cereal. But suddenly, the TV’s signal get’s wacky. The TV start’s emitting static sounds as your favorite show glitches out. Strange combinations of colors flashing and glitching on your tiny screen. Until, it goes black. As if it had turned off. The lights suddenly go out in your house. You drop your cereal in confusion and fear. You look around, worried. As you look back to the TV, you don’t see the reflections of sunlight shining through the corners of the closed curtains like usual. It looks so… dark. So mysterious. Like and endless void that could suck you into a pit of nothing as your life rot!s away slowly. You blink twice, snapping back into reality as you look back up to the TV. But it!s different. There are two eyes on the screen. But.. they don’t look like eyes. They’re dark voids just like the TV. But you can make sense that they’re eyes because of the grey diseased looking flesh circling the dark voids that are eyes. After a moment of staring at the horrible sight Infornt of you. You reluctantly go to the tv, hoping what you’re seeing is just a reflection. You kneel down and try to turn off the TV. You get a sudden chill down your spine. It feels as if everything stopped moving and as if the world got darker. You very very slowly, slower than a snail, turn your head the TV screen, but as you look back to the screen, you wake up. (Honestly I can’t tell if this is good or complete garbage :P :3) AFTER REACTION! I loved this reaction so much. I really got into it! (I’f you couldn’t tell) I love your reactions so much. Seeing things I didn’t see before. Also if you’re wondering (which you probably weren’t:’) ) why I’m talking so much, it,s probably because I haven’t actually talked out out in like- 3 hours and because I’ve been binging an anime show so I feel talkative (online at least) and it’s late at night! :D (yippee sleep deprivation! *small woo hoo*) anyway, I love your reactions so much! ❤^^ looking forward to seeing more! Kinger is my favorite character, and I was so happy with the depth this episode added to him! And seeing a horrific Gooseworx monstrosity in such realistic 3D render was such an impressive and terrifying sight to behold, my horror-loving heart was absolutely ecstatic Also, about 27:35, his eye retracted when Pomni got possessed, she was in the way and it collided with her and dragged her back too. This scene is dark af, so I get why it was hard to make out lol

What's your opinion on my theory? I know that Caine isn't human. But I have a theory that it's possible he himself is just as trapped as the others. Jax, Pomni, Ragatha, Kinger, and the drama-mask guy are trapped in the Circus by weird AI, and Caine is trapped by his own programming. He can't go against it or even question it. I say that because in ep3, when he started to question his purpose or whatever, the whole circus completely glitched out. He literally *has* to make these 'adventures' and make sure the abstracted are contained. He has no choice

I wouldn't say I always love spooky mansions, but I can say for sure that the game GTFO opened the proverbial floodgates of horror for me. Still want to lead a bunch of horror newb streamers through a level or six someday...that'd be funny. I will also put this out there, though: I already related a lot with Kinger in a myriad of ways, but this episode brought that to an entirely new level. Kinger's clearly been around the block, seen some stuff. Been through the wringer. You don't learn the kinds of things he tells Pomni without having gone through something truly awful first. And I only say that because he sounds like me when I see someone struggling like Pomni was in that scene. And I only learned the lessons I did through experiences I don't want to see anyone else have to endure. EDIT: 10:41 I get the feeling you'll really like GTFO. You should check it out!

2 things I have to say: 1 Zooble is definitely trans representation they/them pronouns, background trans flag before their therapy and not feeling comfortable in their body and it’s so good without needing too much attention. 2 we knew Queenie abstracted, Kinger’s often is in the dark with the pillow fort (and bucket last episode) and we knew abstractions are put in a dark cellar so we could have figured everything out before this episode.
