Perhaps it would be best if we, and I include myself, take pause to imagine if oneself was in the receiving end of what appears/appeared to be a violation of those rights. Beyond the rights issue alone, there is also the very real possibility that there couple wanting the cake are indeed Christians themselves. This happened long ago enough that there is much that's changed in our understanding of what Scripture does and does not say. It's understandable that people who have been hurt and marginalized their entire lives because of who they are could be angered by the refusal if service to this couple. The threats to the bakery owner and her employees were, however, absolutely inexcusable. The owner's attorney suggests that what she has suffered it's prescription. She herself does not and send to be a very kind woman who simply wishes to live what she believes. To even suggest that this reached the level of persecution, is to make a mockery of people who have truly been persecuted. No one in this story suffered persecution.

I have gay friends who know I don't agree with certain things, for the same biblical reasons, but they also know that I don't hate them. What surprises me about a situation such as this is the lesbian couple ended up being bigoted hypocrites. By dragging you through the judicial system because you disagreed with their beliefs really does show how one sided they are. They showed that they didn’t/don’t care about anyone else’s beliefs/feelings but their own. You were respectful of them as human beings and even referred them to another local baker but within mere minutes of leaving your shop they literally started a hate war against you…they showed absolutely no respect for you and your beliefs. It’s sad how the media abused her and her fellow workers for their beliefs. We have freedom of religion it’s the building block of how we became a country. This shouldn’t be so. As a real CHRISTIAN, this woman, and the whole mess she created, makes me sick! We are to show Jesus through our words AND our ACTIONS. LOVE is an action. SERVICE to others is an ACTION. What better OPPORTUNITY could this ignorant woman have had to witness the truth, love, and forgives of JESUS to two people in need of the Lord??? God led those people to this “supposed Christian” for a purpose. But what did she do with it? Did she humble herself and show the love of Jesus? Pray for them? Be an example for them? She turned them away! She showed disrespect, rudeness, and the very opposite of what a Christian should do!! Who did Jesus command us to witness to?!? I’m SURE that baker woman would have turned away Mary Magdalene too! How did Jesus explain how the world would know HIS people? By their LOVE to others! Their actions. Their service to others who don’t yet know the Lord. I CANNOT imagine a better witnessing opportunity! Seriously people! Fake Christians: you need to pull your heads out of your church pews and GO BE JESUS to the lost!! What a sad shame. If those people never find the Lord, their blood will be on that BAKER’S hands! And it’s just ANOTHER example of bad people masquerading as “Christians.” Please- do me a favor and stop Misrepresenting Jesus!… And all TRUE Christians who DO love and serve the lost, who truly CARE about others, and who welcome EVERYONE with love and open arms in the name of Jesus. So delighted that this young lady won her case! God is good! She clearly did not discriminate against anyone, she was transparent regarding her principles and beliefs, and she has a constitutional right to her freedom of religion. She also made a good alternative business referral to the gay customers. It seems that the customers attempted to "set her up" for the lawsuit. Praise God that their plan backfired! When God is for you, who can stand against you!
