What people don't understand is that if you line up after a bike with a slick has made a pass . Even your street tire now becomes ultra sticky gripping against the rubber on the track. You can either move over out of the standard center or change your RPM. Those things will help keep you from setting the wheelie record for the strip. I learned this in 1989 on a v65 magna I set the record for wheelie clicking through second gear beating a Harley-Davidson in the end , it's was a puckering experience.

It always surprises me when people think that good traction is the cause of a wheelie. You think the other bikes are spinning the tire, and that’s why it’s not lifting? 😅 Poor clutch setup on the slider or engagement (if it’s hand clutch), or bad suspension. If your bike is spinning, the prep is bad. Also there is no record for “wheelie clicking through second gear” anywhere. Edit: Holy frig there is more: NEVER tell someone to line up outside the tire groove. This will cause more problems. The glue that hasn’t been ridden on gets gooy. Which causes tires to lose traction. Jesus man… you’re gonna hurt someone.

I learned this my first time at an actual track too. Had been playing on the street for a while. It never really acted like the tire was spinning on the street. But, got to the track and tried to launch it the same way and all I saw was sky. Was a bit of a surprise since usually that bike wasn’t prone to wheelie that bad. Still had fun. Ended up running against a guy that was similar speed a few times. I could usually get him off the line, but by the time I hit 3rd he’d be coming back around me.

man tell them bikes have a weight limit and at 70 get off the stupid fast bikes and hold on damn looks like they just hop right off the bike at 190 some people just don't have enough sense to be allowed to do this KNOW YOUR LIMIT and stay below it and if your 350 stop killing a motorcycle please it looks so bad
